Hot Rods V Tag plate

I picked this 40’s V Tag plate , I’ve only seen one photo with a Veterans tag on a Hot Rod, bought this for my 28 roadster .

The V tab stands for Victory rather than Veteran. Issued in 1943.

 

That's good to know, because I don't know if I'm comfortable with someone sporting a veteran anything when they clearly are not.

 

Just one but I bought it for the tag to be honest as my A-Bone is a Post ww2 Roadster.

 

Sorry, its just the one but I mainly grabbed it for the V Tag for my roadster as its a Post ww2 style Roadster.

 

Its Victory I found out so am happy, although I was in the Royal Anglian regiment back in the 80's.

 

I'm not a veteran however I picked up these NOS VFW tag toppers some time ago to add to my collection

 

Bear in mind we hadn't won yet when it was issued ....
