all done with fuel in the bowls

so anyplops, before i run it
just got a fuel pressure regulator
    - question
what psi does the 390 want to see? 6 ilb?

want to buy a 1310 outy clip th350 chevby s10 slip yoke
can you assure me please that gm is 26 spline and ford 25 ?
do i need a long slip yoke in that tail or does it not matter
also, its elastic speedo - is the hall effect pickup the same item as the later

do they come with a tail.

oh and lastly, there is no oil filtration at all on this, is that bad?

No oil filter on my 8BA. May I suggest adding a PCV system? It made a huge difference on mine. I am looking forward to your build, you are doing the research!

I like oil filters. The original bypass system is fine, but I like them mounted on the fire wall instead of cluttering up the head. just my op. Good for you, nice score !

Could you share some details about your PCV hookup? Plumbing etc. Thanks!

Pretty straight forward on an 8ba. Remove the road draft tube and insert a grommet that a PCV valve fits into. Use a valve from an engine that is about the same cubic inch displacement as your flathead. I used one from a 231 Buick. Run a hose from the valve to the vacuum port on the manifold and call it a day. pcv1.jpg pcv2.jpg pcv3.jpg

My 390 fuel pressure is set at 3 1/2 psi on my 8BA.
You didn't say what car you're working on but, in a 40 Ford the 390 accelerator linkage
works best with IMG_2845.JPG IMG_2845.JPG carburetor installed backwards so carb linkage is on passenger side.

    aha!
    talking about the carb
are those two barbs for dual fuel input?
theis is going to be right hand drive, i have the stock rhd go pedal and rods
    maybe it will work
-the thing came with a hydraulic clutch set up
but i think it maybe easier as it has a chevy fork to go cable and use the stock clutch pedal to pull
again there 'might' have been a go to clutch cable for length lhd, hmmm

    ooh, while i am on
is there a 'popular' consensus of opinion as to where the middle of the output shaft wants to sit - in relation 'say' to the line across the top of the rails .

ahh, so the real question is
-at what fuel pressure does the pressurised fuel bend the float retaining tab?

As @51504bat posted, it is easy on an 8BA that still has the internal pipe under the intake manifold for the raod draft tube. I bought a PCV off the Ford barn that was made to fit the intake draft tube. The hard part was a vacuum source on my application. I took it from above my blower in the carb base.

The air enters through a breather on the rear of the intake manifold. Prior to this I had oil dripping from the bottom of my pan and that all too familiar flathead stink. After install, no leaks at all and no smells other than 92 octane in the morning.
