That's true! They never wear out! :p

  2. I would say the first Lloydfeat was a success, no reports of anyone going to jail or the hospital, but I am sure there were a few aching heads this morning. :D HRP

Don't let anybody tell you that ol Cob can't put away some beer ;) he was a blast to hang out with. I sent him home with a bottle of Kentucky's best bourbon :D

Not that I would throw Anthony under the bus but yeah, he is a dealer, no doubt ;). Traded me a 4-71 blower in need of a rebuild for that intake and 94 straight across. Drug it over to my stash of parts and some long, tall, lanky local dude that was racing at the track that day came along and asked me what I wanted for the blower. I gave him a price, we settled for $5 under that, which was more than what Anthony and I agreed our swap was worth. Gave Anthony half the profits. Win, win :).

Kumbaya might have been appropriate for this group . After I met everyone, I had to talk Lloyd out of the two of us harmonizing on "One Ball Johnny":eek:.

Like I mentioned earlier in this thread, I had been keeping up with the thread. I hadn't given much thought on actually attending. Wife and I had lots of things going on, traveling wise. But, on the way to Tri-5 in August, I stopped by and met Lloyd. That's all it took, right then and there I decided I was coming to LloydFest. Let me say "I am very glad I came!" Yes, I trailered my '40 Ford here, but I probably put over a hundred miles on it while here. Back and forth to AirBnB and the Poker Run.
I met a lot of wonderful people, actually everyone I met was wonderful. Enjoyed talking with so many of you. Sorry if I talked your ears off.
Lloyd and Ashley, you all did a great job. We all appreciate it. Thanks for taking the initiative and planning LloydFest. It might inspire others in other parts of the country to do the same.
Wife and I are hoping to do a trip to Alaska next year, don't know dates yet, but you better believe I'll be at LloydFest II if dates work out.
Thanks again Lloyd and Ashley and all the other HAMBers that attended. Ron

You're awesome Ron! Anytime you're in the area, give me a yell and we'll hang out! It was a pleasure having you and Lois here, and the 40 was beautiful. Really hope you can make it back next year!

Be sure to thank those guys from the HAMB who are listed on the back of your shirts! Even though @55 Ford Gasser got messed up and became bootlegger Billy  and Gary @ROADSTER1927 walked up before he left and handed me a donation. These guys all sent me money to help put this on, if it weren't for them, ol dad would've had to shell out a bunch of cash! I hope the prizes were suitable! @John B and his old lady Jessie made and donated the dash plaques and can cozies, he's an long time member here. And always remember that it couldn't have happened if you guys hadn't taken the time out of your life to be here!! It was very much worth what I did, but it took all of us :D and we got to watch some badass ass drag racing. For the record, that 4 second firebird is the guy that owns the track. I don't Facebook, but if you do, give them a follow. I64 motorplex

Moonshiners sometimes carried extra license plates. So, while here in Kentucky, I figured I would fit in better with a Kentucky plate on the back. And yes, I did run this plate all weekend. 20231008_133707.jpg

This was one of the most incredible weekends that I have spent in years. I got to put names and faces together and hopefully didn't offend anyone ;). The weather was great, slightly cool when the clouds came over, warm when the sun came. The track was located at the end of a long, twisty tree covered road and we had the entire side of the track opposite the pit area. The track owner was extremely gracious and my thanks to him. When Lloyd posts next year's dates, I'll be right in line saying, "Yes, I'll be there". For those who couldn't make it this year, please plan on coming next time. My thanks to Lloyd and Shelly for doing this. For all Lloyd's BS, he's just a good old boy, but I have no idea why someone as good-looking as Shelly puts up with him. She deserves a medal.

My daughter, Alyn, in @mohr hp (Steve) Willys starting out on the tour. You can't see anything but a smile there.

I'm sorry, but I can't remember the owner of this shoebox. Really like that green paint job.

While everyone else was on the tour, @corncobcoupe and I enjoyed stuff like this and discussed life in general.
Cob's one of the coolest guys I've ever met, even if he is one of those M-words.

What was the head count? I think you were expecting about 50, maybe you mentioned it before and I missed it.

I would guess 50-60? I had some local buddies show up. Gerald brought his 39 Chevy, another guy brought his 39 Ford, and another with a 60 Ford pickup. Had people coming over from the races, checking out everybody's cars, so there was a bunch of people.

Yes that’s my son Matt’s car. He was the one carrying around the cutest puppy in existence and my wonderful Granddaughter Lavinia.
Matt work hard for three months getting that original flathead, brakes, and suspension ready for the 14 hr round trip. He was really proud of his accomplishment. Me too.
We made it home an hour ago.
    both flatheads ran perfectly.
