The first thing I ever won - a class winner's jacket ca 1960s at Thompson Drag Raceway. Still got it. I added the North Bros. Drag club patch when I moved to Motown in 1970.

  3. Very cool..where was North Brothers Ford back then?

I believe it was in Garden City, on or near Ford Road. I was new to the area so I was not familiar to those neighborhoods then. I remember some FoMoCo employees would meet there after work for meetings and to plan outings to race, help out, or observe the locals. I won the jacket racing my 305 cc Honda Superhawk, but by the time I moved to MI I had my '23 T running and was re-doing it with a 'glass body. Good times

  6. Ok, that’s what I was wondering..they are still on Ford rd in Westland..ya had Red Holman Pontiac to the west..very cool ya kept it and were part of that back then..

  7. I have a t shirt too…belonged to and hung in Gators home for many years and I’m now lucky enough to own it and care for it

The funny thing was my Brother owned the bike, one of my friends owned the helmet, another the leather jacket, and I even had to borrow a buddy's drivers license, as I was only 15.

  19. Friend scored these at Hershey this year…he’s gonna do a period correct jacket and have them sewn on..I see a jacket with these hanging up at Walt’s Auto years ago from 61, when he won the Nats…

Thanks, guys, for reviving an old thread. Kool stuff never really goes out of date, does it?
No, these are NOT mine. Several years ago, I visited the [now closed] World of Speed Motorsports Museum in Wilsonville OR and they had a display dedicated to Andy Granatelli. Several of his personal racing jackets were part of that display.
    Got pics .... :D

Have no idea what happened to them after the museum closed but I would guess they were probably on loan from the family?

  21. Saw these in Mackinaw City….
