Reminds of a time I was building a house. A lady in the neighborhood stopped and asked me to pay for her flat tire because she ran over a nail the day before. I told her we like to keep our nails on the job site. No one here has had a flat in years. If you can prove the nail came from here I'll pay for the flat...IOW, no.
Hello, If the boat were not in the photo as pictured, it would have been in 1952 near Yosemite National Park in California. Our dad had just purchased his first two toned Buick 4 door sedan and we took it for our summer vacation road trip. The two brothers fit in the back seat quite well, as the Buick sedans have tons of room. Our dad wanted to see if the big Buick was road worthy. He had a 150 mile south of the border (Baja, Mexico) end of the summer road trip to a remote fishing camp all lined up and wanted to see how the newish sedan held up. The roads in California are much better than the dirt roads we would be on going to the remote fishing camp along the desolate shoreline of Mexico during the early 1950s. But, that is another story… Jnaki Our dad took along his trusty 4 x 5 Graflex Bellows Camera and accessories along. I was selected to help him set up the heavy camera on a short tripod and take a photo of the low bench at the view point of the famous Half Dome. I have no idea why he chose me to help him. Although my brother was usually wandering around exploring while I was always calling our big Buick home for my activities when stopped. Once the heavy camera was sitting on a short sturdy tripod, all it took was to push the button and the film cartridge was ready for the next shot. YRMV
