History Early drag racing photos

Does anyone remember or know of a Top Fuel car from around 1964/65 that was called The Vandal?.......it was sold to an Australian guy Ash Marshall in 1965 who ran it here in Oz till the late 60's with various rebuilds. It ran a 392 Hemi, 6-71blower, 4pot Hilborn & scoop & weed burner zoomies with a full body, painted black(from memory) and had a distinctive squarish opening at the front of the body, it also ran a beam front axle, with a squared roll bar above the driver at least these are things that I can remember.....lol.........always wondered if it had any USA history.

 

We need pics .Quick google search came up with these pics. Someone will recognise it. Being from Victoria i was more for Graham Withers in the Ampol GT rail . You know it was a N.S.W. versus Vic. thing

 

Gaz.........thanks for the pics, it seems that it was red in its 1st incarnations here in Oz, yeh I know about the NSW/Vic rivalry....lol........am curious about its background as I would like to build a model of it as I have done of the Withers Fueler, see attached pics............anyway does anyone know of the Vandals USA story?.....thanks.......andyd

 

Surprised that no one has found any USA pics or info of the Vandal before it came to Australia...34GAZ posted 5 pics with # 1 and # 4 showing the car at its earliest appearances in Australia & how it would have looked in the USA.........that distinctive square roll bar, weed burners, beam front axle, square opening to the front body & Hilborn scoop all indicate a fairly specific car..........anyone know of its USA history?......lol.
