Goes to show that they are still out there and being driven. I wonder if the owner has more trouble getting into it now than when he first built it LOL

I dont have a clue whats going on there, but every set of beadlocks I have ever seen, go thru the edge of the rim first, and then lock into the tyre.

I wondered if it was some attempt at "car/tyre jewelry", because it doesnt look like beadlocks to me.

To be honest with you, I don't know what they are either, I checked a couple other photos I have of it and those dots aren't there, I'll check the build photos, they are archived on another computer.

Building a hot rod and tackling the seating at the very end of the build, instead of early on…very early on!

Love the profile of that shorty radiator, below the tires and really smaller than the cowl, but it must be made of super cooling max conductor space stuff. A 15X15 radiator for a SBC?

And the top tank below the top of the heads, a sure way to crack heads.

To me, the "tall in the saddle" look always stood out as the single biggest mistep that the builders of 60's T-bucket cars made. Probably due to the fact that most cars were a package deal and many were first time builds and guys didn't know any better.
I sure wouldn't want to head out on a cross country trip in one, though many did.
Now here's a car that I could tour in!

  20. Wow, pure 1965! It's not perfect (I'd vote to lose the funky cowl lamps) but it's probably a work in progress ("next I'll chrome the windshield frame") and really is perfect for the era: American mags, slicks, big-time suicide mount, etc. I like it and wish we had other views. Nice addition to the thread!

  21. I like it! I'd lose the cowl lights like nitrobrother said, the "A" grille shell would get swapped out for a "T" or 32, and I'd do something with the radiator hoses. In 1965 there wasn't many choices for doing this stuff. Great car that is very buildable in todays world. Cheap easy build. In the 60's you could get a "T" body, shortened bed, and a grille shell molded in various colors of metalflake. Can't find those today, but I did see an NOS one a couple years ago at a swapmeet. If you could get a metalflake one today that would save money on paint cost.
