Technical Rubber flex brake hoses

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by alumcantandthd, Oct 12, 2023.

  1. Does anyone know who makes the normal black rubber flex brake hoses only with stainless steel ends?

    Thanks

Tricky to do. Rubber needs a much deeper crimp on the fitting and stainless does not like being crimped that much.

I have had brake hoses chromed before, the chrome does not hurt the rubber.... 837BB540-F3CD-434A-B7D5-7E94E430AADF.jpeg E8646699-25B6-4B45-969A-A8D0C8D212E0.jpeg

Check with the trucking/ hydraulic hose suppliers in your area. There is at least one near here that fabricates DOT certified hoses.

You should break the connection at the frame, and release the twist in that rubber brake line.

I bet he's using that twist to move the brake line out of the way when he turns right.

    Ford used/uses that trick alot...

FYI, not every hydraulic hose shop is qualified or certified to make brake lines. There is a heck of a liability factor.
