My dad used to get pissed when I got a roll of his friction tape. :D
I figured out how to get the drawing on here. The drawing in not in proportion to the measurements but they may help. A drawing of each piece with measurements & notes? Damn, I see I didn't get the height of 5R in the drawing. It is 2".

I think that I can build from that! Thanks!
I was going to different yard sales looking for some old rolls of the friction tape until I found out that it is still being made. And cheap!
Had the old Farmall running today, so dug into the blackberry bushes and pulled out my 'wood assembly frame' and took out the rivets holding the running board horns on. Was told many years ago that removing them will save a lot of wear and tear on the shins! Put them back on with bolts when the body work is all done!

Twisted, I thought of using graph paper but just didn't think it was that important. If we need blue prints we'll hire an architect. But when I started this I did get some really big graph paper.

GG2, Glad you got the tractor going.
I took those off if mine long ago. Someone else shortened the rear rails but did it in just the right place. They also too the rear spring perch for the right front spring and the front crossmenmbers. I think my frame is a '25. That is all easy to get right. It is just steel.
If you need more pictures or measurements let me know. I can measure the 8L and transpose it if you need it. I also measured the width of the cut for the trunk floorboards where it crosses 3R it is 3/4".

The Farmall that I used today was not the one in the shop. I've still have a couple of weeks work yet to get it out. But i am making headway! I am thinking that I want that frame ready to throw in the vacant space before the suction starts to fill it with other junk!
I could use 8L dims. but I need to get stuff sorted out, may need some widths on 2L and 3L yet.
Thanks again for your hard work!

Some people here on the Hamb say if no pic. it didn't happen! Well, here is my pic. After taking the pic. I unbolted the battery box, so think it is ready to go. I've got some steel sawhorses and some tubbing. I hope that will be good enough.

I had a rare power outage here this morning. I can't remember the last one. It has been cloudy & rainy for a few days and the solar hasn't been able to keep up. The power went off this morning and when I started the generator there was no output. I found a packrat had taken up residence inside. It took a whole to clean out the nest. Luckily none of it was inside anything critical. It had cut 4 wires but I was able to repair them. I was done a little after 1:00. Still better than what is going on a Burning Man.

GG2, Multi tractors! My Ford is still stuck on the side of the hill by the springs, I need it down here. Been there for a few years. I wish the JD crawler was working. I'll get more measurements in the next few days. Lots happening right now. I'll finish the right side first the best I can while it is still together. 2R, 3R, & 8R. I guess I should 1R too. It will interesting to see if the measurements on the left are the same. They should be.

Twisted, I know you were poking me. I wanted you to know I was prepared to do it right if you guys make me. :D

I HATE packrats! They can make such a mess and cart off a lot of your shinny stuff. You are very lucky this time!

Me too to the point that I'd rather have rattlesnakes than packrats. Rattle snakes will just kill you but packrats steal and turn your stuff.
Sometimes you can trap them 2 at a time. Sometimes they are so big you have to shoot them. The brake fluid bottle is one of the big ones.

I finally got that tractor out of my shop! The day before fall began!
You know how things have a tendency to snowball, well I think that I ended up with a 8 foot one the last two weeks.
I started to move stuff from around that tractor to the new barn, but I found that I had no shelf space left. No biggy I still had the knee brace pattern from the first shelf and short 2x4 and 2x6 scraps for the crosses, so cut up a bunch. Grabbed the nail gun and pulled the trigger! NOTHING! Opened it up and what a mess, looked like Vaseline inside with all the O-rings stuck, went to buy parts......... They have started obsoleting that model parts! Finally found someone who still supplied parts back east.
So to plan B. Hammer and nails. I have problems controlling my 20 oz. hammer since I tried to push a half inch rod through the back of my hand last year, so two handed it. Still bent over too many nails!
Plan C get out the cordless drill/driver and screws. It got to where I stripped the screw heads before I could get them in. Realized that the 16 ft. 2x6s that I bought this summer was the culprits. Harder than a rock! (someone over cooked them in the dry kiln!)
Plan D pre drill all holes! This worked, and had up 32 ft. pretty quickly. Picked up parts off of barn floor. Used up 16 ft, before moving any more from the shop!
Plan E put up 48 ft. of shelf! I have 10 ft. left after moving the parts from around the tractor in the shop.
As I was moving I found a 26 Chevy rod and piston and compared it to the tractor rod. WOW!
In the second picture you can see the new shelf (full) and the tractor in it's new home.
    I am POOPED!

    Great job my friend.
I finally have a Batch of the Webber's in my hands. Time to get machining then into a blaster to give them a better looking finish. IMG_7759.jpg

Tractors & stuff moved and organized....lots of Weber intakes You guys are making progress. I'm still trying to get 2 miles of road good enough to get a propane truck in so I don't have to go back to wood heat this winter. I have about 1 1/4 miles roughed in. I keep breaking Chinese hydraulic fittings and lift pins on the tractor. I'm spending about as much time chasing & installing crappy parts as I am in the tractor seat. I have cleared the shelves of both Tractor Supply & Cal Ranch in Carson City. One should not be allowed to have Tractor in its name the other should insert Hobby into its name. Wimpy Shit Store would fit both! This is hard work for my little Kubota but it is ding great! I have knocked out most of the worst spots but still a lot to do. I should have taken some before pictures. These are sort of late during.:rolleyes: 100_0915.JPG 100_0916.JPG

Your right! They should be ashamed of themselves for selling such junk! The road that you are showing takes real parts and then it is slow going! (you don't have much trouble with not having base material) Glad to hear that the Kubota is doing good! Good luck on the rest of the road. Let me know if there is anything that I can help you with. I do have a few old (real parts) lying around.

Got yesterday's purchases on & tuned up some rear hydraulics and other connections. When I was testing it I blew a front hydraulic line. Headed to China Supply for a new one.
GG2 thanks for the offer I'll keep that in mind. I do need someone to throw big rocks.
Tim that is just a little bit of it. It keeps the Flatlanders at bay, at least I can see them coming. Trespassers are made to throw big rocks off the road on their way out. :D
I want to work in the roadster. Even just post pictures of some new pieces.

GG2 if you were closer you'd hate me like all the rest. :(

AmishMike, That is dust from a BIG dump truck at my closest neighbor, a mine that produces light weight aggregate for making light weight concrete products, blocks, pavers, tip up walls, septic tanks........ The road I'm working on crosses their property. They actually offered to do this road work for me but I'll save their big favors till I really need them. They have come through big time in the past. Great neighbors! :)

WOW, that is a nice thing to hear. I guess good neighbors is a way to describe what goes on here. Folks with like interest talking, listening and helping each other. Most of us will never see each other but we share a lot that distance has no effect on. Thanks neighbor!:D

I'd have to agree with you on that, those that we would like as a neighbor are far away from US. And those that we don't are to Close.

    Boy-howdy --- ain't that the Truth...
Could be an interesting Experiment to gather-like-Minds. But can't be discussed here because it's all political/related.

Sadly all we do is now political. Old cars, fuel for them, building race cars out of them, places where we can race or even drive. registration, licensing, insurance, what paint we can use............the regulations we must follow come from the government & the government is total politics.

How is the road coming? Are things slowing down so that you can talk about 26 chevy bodys yet?

Well........., I have about 1/2 mile left. I got the left pin issue solved. after breaking 6. It partly had to do with too much slack in the sway chains and binding the top of the hydraulic cylinder. I figured it out after breaking both pins & chains a few times. I have a new sway bar kit at the PO now. I tore the valve stem out of a front tire and could not find one locally is I had to order on line. Absolutely NO 600x14 inner tube within 100 miles of here. I spent a whole day on the phone. It took almost a week to get one and I was able to use my Harbor freight tire changer to replace it. Got two days in before I poked a hole in a rear tire. I have it ready to haul to town tomorrow. When I did that I didn't want to leave it so far from home so I pulled the key and walked home to get the pickup & trailer. When I got back I had lost the key so I had to figure out how to start the tractor with a piece of wire I had in the tool box. It would be easy to steal Kubotas. On the way back home I cut a trailer tire on one of the rocks I'd left in the road. I ordered some new keys and have the trailer wheel loaded too. We'll see how things go this week. Two good days will get the road good enough for the propane truck. I'm too old for this crap!
The rocks come in many sizes from ones that make good road base to too big to get out. Too big to leave in the road, too big to throw, too big to roll, and too big for the tractor to lift when I do get them out.
