Those look great!! Any plans for collectors or will this be strictly open headers?

Thanks. I'll terminate the 3 1/2" collector right at the edge of the front door. I'll have a 3-bolt collector ring and hook up to a 3 1/2-to-3" reducer leading to 3" Porter steel-packs. If I rig it up right, I'll be able to unbolt the 3" exhaust at the track and add a turn-out to the collector.

Check out powerstick mufflers. I run em on my car, very easy to work with, simple to fab up, made in USA, and sound amazing…

I switched to Lexan on the side glass and dumped the window mechanisms. Vintage seat belts were reassigned to window lifting duty. Total weight savings is around 25 pounds.

If I don't hurry up and paint 'em white, they will be brown before long!

I think.........Georgia Cracker (with a crack'in bullwhip under/or over the name) would be really slick!
Too bad Georgia Shaker is already used and is still real prominent...
Ya could write the name and have it sitting on a saltine cracker! That would be different!
BITD my little 64 Sprint had little Frankenstein Man with GROUND SHAKER under him drawing !

PS The saltine cracker idea I like better & better :D:D

Dad will sketch it up on paper so we can hang it and ruminate before applying the paint.
I'm not much on trim or flash, so we'll keep the lettering kind small and on the quarter panels. I mean, a Gasser needs some kinda lettering!

I'd figure with a color like that "Mint Julep" would be a natural choice for a Southern car!:D

A 100 years ago there was a 66 Falcon race car in the northwest called the “Absurd Bird”
Hand painted small letters on the trunk lid it had “ Just another Falcon Ford”.

We're thinking "Fulwood's Speed Shop Fort Valley, GA" in small lettering on the trunk lid.

I sanded and painted the bumper and added a vintage '61 tag. It was originally issued in Bibb, the county I grew up in.

In Georgia, you can register and run these. The tag has to match the year of the car. You still have to buy a new tag and keep it in the car.

Here's a little trivia. In Georgia, the tags used to start with the county number,****igned according to population. Bibb County was the 5th most populous, so Bibb tags always started with the number 5. If you had a truck, the second character was an "R".

In the early 70's I knew a guy that had a 61 Falcon, a real frumpy dark green thing.
It was plane as Jane could be visually, black steel wheels, stock(ish) ride height, nothing flashy but it had a nasty 221, a T-10 and a nine inch with old school style rect. tube traction bars welded to the rearend.
He would side step the clutch and the car would do this weird squat and hop thing.
    I always called it Kermit.

The '60-61 Falcon took styling cues from post-war fighter jets such as the F-86 Sabre. It seemed fitting to make an aircraft type part.
The removable trans tunnel is made from 2024T4 Alclad aluminum with AN470A-4-4 bucked rivets. I think I'll leave it unpainted.

I forgot how long it takes to finish-weld headers. One side down, one to go.
I've found that VHT paint will adhere well if you follow the instructions closely and use their primer. Nevertheless, they will be scratched and stained in no time.
