Hey everyone. I loosened the U bolts on the rear axle to install some lowering blocks and the axle perch broke. I’ve tried searching online for replacements but am coming up blank. Does anyone know if these are sold anywhere? Or if this is something I can weld? I’ve attached a couple pictures. I appreciate the help as I am feeling really stupid right now.
I'd just hunt another perch on marketplace or something. Most guys doing open drive shaft conversions practically give them away. I I mean....I left my stock rear end in the yard where I lived when I did the swap when I moved lol
Hopefully someone close by who has one laying out back that they pulled out to swap rear ends has a good one on it. I'm not sure if the trucks from that era are the same but would think that they are. How bout it SoCal folks, who's got one in the junk pile that he can use.
Call, (yes call) the national chevy assn. in St Paul Mn. It is owned by Paul Nimis, they have been dealing in 49-54 chev stuff for decades, super nice people and they have used parts too. I am sure they will have what you need. Call them https://www.nationalchevyassoc.com/
Place a "wanted" ad in the HAMB classifieds. Some of us have half a dozen complete rear ends for parts .....
Thanks everyone for the suggestions. Unfortunately, National Chevy Association doesn’t have what I’m looking for and they advised that it’s not a readily available part. I put a wanted ad in the classifieds and will keep my eyes peeled for a replacement.
