The gentleman who inspected my coupe was very pleased with everything. He sat in it, and he ask me to start it. We ran it for awhile and thanked me. He drove off and didn't even charge me. Great guy and a memorable experience. I just notice your call name, l love Krylon paint, I plan to paint the body with matching Krylon like the frame, grill shell, and hood! I bought two gallons of Krylon primer red, cost $38.00 each! Can't do that at a PPG store!!

Quart or gallon marketed as rust tough, ultra flat. Check it out. It has doubled in price since we purchased it 6 months ago.

Gotta secure the hood and try her out!! Bad time to be selling our house, so we are ready to spend the winter. But the best news is the house is finally finished!!!

I had an art teacher in college that told me once "if you had only done that in watercolors it would be perfect". Regardless of the medium (in this case steel or glass) that is a cool ass hot rod!

  8. @Splitbudaba , great build!
Are those JAZ seats the full size or the "mini pro stock" size?

I think they are full size. Seems the older we get the wider seats we need!!

Just got back from the Post Office. Received my official Idaho title for my coupe. Official birthdate is 9/11/23! Hope that's not a bad omen!

I am having bad luck getting the front brake flex lines to stop leaking at the wheel cylinder connection. The lines I bought are repo stuff. The problem is the nut on the fitting rounds off when I try to torq the fitting. I am using Snap On line wrenches. Already got better, and thicker copper washers. I found some NOS Ford brake lines. The fillings look a lot stronger than the repops. I guess the issue with nos is the rubber. Anybody have any solutions for this issue? Are NOS Ford hoses any good?

Making progress, doors and trunk are assembled and hung. Latches are next for the doors. Trunk has a hidden cable operated latch. That was a bugger to rig, but I won. I ordered some NOS Ford front brake hoses from a nice guy in Roanoke. When I got all the bees wax off, I found two different styles of hose. Contacted him, and to my surprise he sent me another matching hose free of charge! There are some kind people left!!! Installed, torqued, bled, and I have brakes! The NOS brake lines were a ton better than the other repops I tried!! PXL_20231012_210023698.jpg PXL_20231012_210005134.jpg PXL_20231012_205954190.jpg PXL_20231012_205946067.jpg

No, but I did get a little silicone brake fluid on them. Quick wipe down and that's it. In fact the pic of the left front has a rag in the shot, which is covering the line wrenches. Just installed the brake hose and bled the system. No armor all yet!!

I polished the entire aluminum finned drum on my 34, I see you left them as cast. You don't need my help, but (that said) it would look cool to polish only the tops of the fins.

I'd print up a bunch of shipping labels or that sized stickers and place them between the ribs. Then polish away.
Your car is turning out bitchin.

PXL_20231019_205458640.jpg PXL_20231019_205508782.jpg Installed the old ni-cad battery box from a corporate jet, in the trunk area secured thru the floor. Next comes two stainless vents which also mount under the floor. I did find an automotive battery that fits in the box and I will still be able to use the quick disconnect.

Bet he has something planned for the space between it and the side of the trunk that's light enough not to shift forward and bend the tubing! ;) His emergency tarp or something....

That space is spoken for. There's an aircraft quick disconnect. Figure when I go somewhere I can pop the trunk, hidden release cable, and just turn the knob and all power is gone! The other side will hold my grandfather's wooden tool box with old tools. PXL_20231020_023959012.jpg PXL_20231020_024013221.jpg

I have a few of those, they are used in light aircraft as the master switch. They are easy to activate if you can find where it's mounted. I think I went with this stuff cause it's different! Oh yeah and free!!!!
