IMG_20231019_195401.jpg This 56 Fairlane followed me home. Well done frame stub and Straight Axle. More a street car than race carI'm a Chevy guy, so my first thought is my 66 327, for which I have A crossram 4 speed, and everything to put together a screamer . It's a Ford, however, all I have is a 80s 302, or dreams someone has an FE to donate. I'm a bucks down guy, so the options are based on what can be done cheaply with what I have. I did pull it out of Fremont, but I doubt it has history there. IMG_20231019_195401.jpg IMG_20231020_072738.jpg IMG_20231020_072750.jpg

Sounds like your mind is already made up, so why are you asking?

No. I love my Chevys and my 327s, and it would be easy to do, but I'm torn, as it's a Ford, and the 302, although down on power with what I have, is a Ford in a Ford. I'm really the type of guy who would take my 59 El Camino to a show wearing a Mopar shirt and a Ford hat.

I’m a y block guy, still have an F code one. Put the damn Chevy in. You’ve got it. Or buy a caddy or an olds. It’s a gasser. Nobody ran the cars based on the make. When was the last time you saw a Henry J gasser with a Willys in it.

I would have to agree about just throwing the 327 in to be honest if you are wanting to do it on a budget and no one offers you an FE for free. Seems like SBC parts are almost free anymore and can still make decent power for a fun car.

It's amazing how F ing uptight some folks get over what engines other guy's choose to use in their hot rods... I am a factory trained Ford tech and don't give a***** what people put in their cars. pretty soon it will all be electric motors being swapped in , even in a precious Boss 429 mustang. I have built tons of sbf's A******in Cadillac 390 A couple of Hemi's and more damn Chevy engines than I can count. Even some VW's and other overseas*****. Bottom line is , just build your hot rod and have fun!

I think this is where you should put the picture of the representative for lumpy's racing engines!

I'll throw it out there, anyone in NorCal got a a 351 Cleveland or an FE with a transmission and are interested in a trade. I have a standard bore 66 327 out of a Chevelle, no it's never been in a Corvette.
