Now you need to polish that tank.

  2. Then it wouldn't look like a vintage Eelco, I still have to polish those big block valve covers yet, no polishing the tank lol

Figured a shiny bracket held a shiny object. The biffing compound will cake up and make the dark spots to give the age.

  4. Fuel system and wires on the 59 gasser, street freak thingy. Getting to the completion stage on thes one, figure it will be done May of 24. All I have left to do is assemble all this stuff.

  5. I'll mail it to you for buffing, it'll look like a diamond in a goat's ass up in the blacked out grill with all the extra shine lol

  10. Lol…I just pulled the aluminum heads off this one since they were smaller combustion chamber and swapped to cast iron ones this week. I will likely run the aluminum ones on another engine that doesn’t have a blower.

  11. That hiboy makes me happy :D:cool:

  15. Finally got around to cutting off the control arm brackets on this to get it ready for leaf spring perches so it can go in my 53 IMG_2023-10-20-18-30-41-079.jpg

  16. These heads are really to small for this engine too but I had them and knew they made 604 N/A so I hard headed myself into using them and regret it now, would've been easier power with a bigger head.

Worked on Vito's vette more today, header fitment , ac brackets etc. A buddy came in with a 64 falcon sprint his granma bought brand new. Story was she wanted a 63 1/2 but non were left, the salesman took her to a warehouse where the 64s were parked and she picked this one, factory 4spd. Mark inherited it when she passed a couple of years ago. 20231021_121312.jpg 20231021_121211.jpg

  18. ^ Shifters sticking right out of the floor are a great look, plus a console is unusual. Love it.

So... Have been wanting some 7j by 16 and 6j by 16 vintique gennie wheels for ages - years
    drilled 4.5'' - and chevy - not 5.5/5
bit too pricey for my liking.......
anyways a used red set of 4 came up for sale for 600 pounds sterling uk
pair of 6j with snap beads and a pair of 4's by 16 - these dont have snap beads
sold the 4's for 300 - also bought some caps x4 for 60
swap meet trim rings - bashed up 20 quid for 4
    so 4 rings 20
    - 4 caps 60
    two 6j 300
    sub total 380
    todays efforts
went and picked up the rear 7j by 16's
400 pounds just for the rims
on the way home stopped at the open on sundays tyre shop and dug through the pile of used tyres
    pair of 215 75 16 van tyres £80 fitted
    480
    plus
    380
£860 for 4 used wheels trims and rings and
2 tyres - and I still need to buy two front ones
    1050 bucks for fucks sake!!!
    anyways, i had 6 wheels
the horrible smoothies that take the smooth caps
    sold 4 for £520
    340 to find
need to sell a pair of 15'' 6j smoothies with new tyres for 250
sell the other set of 46 caps i have for the remaining 90
    = evens
just had to type that out to myself and tell myself its like a swapsies.

got some used front tyres fitted for 60 quid - 195 75 16
    920 ffs
    then bought a brand new 185 75 16 for 90 quid
will find another new 185 75 16 michelin agilis +
they make the same bloody tyre in a plus 3 which have kerb rubbing chocolate blocks on the sidewalls
and i have odd front bloody tyres
even though pone looks brand new
    1010 pounds sterling
    1227 dollars ffs!!

I must say though, with the chassis nearing completion and all one colur and the tasty wheels, the project looks a bit cooler - which is the point

still need to salvage 250 for my other pair
and get 90 quid for the nicer set of wheel caps .
    need to take some pics

  23. Sorry for your involuntary move out, James. At least you got one last day of decent weather. Tomorrow . . . not so much. I'm trying to take advantage of one last warm, dry day but the wind is something else.

This has been on the radar for some time now. Just needed that date set to get me off my ass and just do it.
I have been in this building since1992, think I have my work cut out for me now.

  25. Good that this was in the plan for a while. Moving anytime is a groaner. I kick myself for not transferring everything when I last moved nearly 20 years ago. Left behind/threw away stuff that I kick myself now for not taking with me, and I only moved a quarter mile away at the time.

Cleaning up an Autolite. Any thoughts on the carbon build up? It’s not going on the same engine it came off so if we think it is engine related it doesn’t matter.
