In all seriousness, get one of these, and mice will not be a problem.

I never had a mice problem in 20 years, except for the year I put drier sheets in my cars for good measure. You're mileage may vary.

14? My Dad fed everything on the ranch, real good! So when he started feeding cats, they just kept coming and coming! Down around the barns ,one day , I counted 42 cats! He bought cat food in fifty pound bags. Lol I told him if he would quit feeding them….they would go away. But, my Dad’s policy on the ranch was everything eats and eats good! I guess it came from him being hungry during the depression! He always told people he had that many cats to keep the rhinos away! The n he would ask the person….” Do you see any rhinos?” Must be working! Lol

My bro tried drier sheets in his motor home. Mice used the drier sheets to build nests. Deemed ineffective.

Here goes. Evidently the mice in South Texas don't read the handbook. I currently have an ultrasonic unit in my 24X24 shop. I have sprayed peppermint oil on rags to put on the carpet. I have a large bowl of the lavender vanilla dryer beads. They ate the Irish Spring bars. The last shop cat just kicked the bucket at 13 years old but basically phoned in the mouser duties at about 8 years of age. Caught two of the little vermin in standard traps over the last 30 days inside the Chevy.

    I hate meeses to pieces.

I guess I the lucky one
Our kids got together a purchase us a car capsule
I just put the car in it and turn on the little fan that inflates it

  8. Do you have a dog or a cat? After evicting a family of rodents that had lived in my 53 fifty years I would have my little dog walk around the inside of it. Scent of a dog or cat will deter rodents. Haven't found a nest since I cleaned out the last one that came with the car three years ago

As suggested, this is what happened for my garage, & is happening to the shed:
"How about figuring out where the mice get in first, and close off their entry to avoid infestation at all?"
Problem is, when the door(s) get opened(I & stuff don't get in or out w/o doors opening. Tele-transporter is F'd currently.), miserable varmints scramble inside - 'bout near as fast as MightyMouse. Doesn't even help that there are "no mice allowed" signs... :D . Blackie *use to* put the "Fear of Cat" into them. Current little cuddlie - no so much, although she'll play them to death at times...

We use cab fresh, and clean everything so there is no food, also put out bait stations and traps. I have no out side cats. The dogs will not eat the dead mice that I have seen. In the fall when they start coming in is when the bait stations are most effective for me. Living on a farm mice are a constant battle. I used to use moth balls that I would put in the cars, the smell sucked and the day I found a mama mouse with a bunch of kids in the box I threw the moths balls in to to keep them off the carpet convinced me they where not very effective. Plug any holes with coarse steel wool, think about where they can get in. Vents, drains, air cleaners hvac systems etc. We put Dog/Cat food in steel cans to limit availability. The poison that we had the best luck with was from Fleet Farm and was in a yellow labeled bucket, it was a soft light green/yellow block that the mice just loved, and it killed them quickly, they wouldn't get much past about 10 ft from the bait station. If anyone knows where this is available please post. Fleet farm here does not have it any longer. We have been able to really keep the mice at bay with these techniques. Now it's those dam red squirrels, destructive little suckers.

  12. So I asked A.I. to illustrate a scene of a "mean, angry cat catching mice in a garage" and this is what I got. Is this how things look in your shop?

The link isn't working for me, but 4 or 5 years ago my mom found packets of rodent repellant at the hardware store. Put a packet in your vehicle, shed, whatever, and the mice are supposed to run fast the other way. My dad swore they attracted the mice as they were actually chewing on them.

My cat is lazy. He waits til he hears the snap of the trap. Several times he has showed up with someone's trap w/ mouse in it. Far easier when the mouse can't flee!

Moxie keeps the mice out of the house, garage, and the cars. The black cats Walter and Larry only play with the dead ones. . . . If there is anything left 20230620_161744.jpg 20230221_201445.jpg

  20. It hasn’t been mentioned in this thread yet- put a granular cleanser like ajax or comet around each of the tires. They don’t like to walk through it and if they do and lick it off their paws it is detrimental. Fill the holes in your buildings with steel wool and expanding foam. And do all the other stuff too.

  21. "Moxie the Mouser" ;) So named because he/she is an acquired taste???

(I rather enjoy Moxie, the soda. Wish it was more readily available here in the Midwest.)

My cats stay inside because the predators outside are bigger. I keep the lights on in my garage 24/7 and had had good luck so far, except I just found signs under the hood, so it's time for LEDs.
