  1. Well, for women's shirts, I like it on the front, that way I don't have to feel so guilty staring.

I never realized there was that much of a passionate preference. Reading the replies it makes sense that people in warmer climates (not all) prefer design on back, and people in cooler climates prefer design on front (as stated they can still show of design on front while wearing an open flannel or jacket . The only problem with the design on front is when the person wearing the shirt has a large belly it is hard to make out the design

  3. depends on the image on the shirt. Some look right on the back others look right on the front. Here is one i made up a few years ago to sell, it just didn't look right on the back and was proudly displayed on the front. I prefer the American Apparel T's as well.

Passionate about t-shirts? Don't get me started.

My basic uniform in Texas is a pair of jeans, a blank black t-shirt (hypocrite), and Jordan 1s. I wear that 80% of my days at a minimum. Hawaii is different obviously...

Again, on the pocket shirts for those who can't read - I'm not doing them until someone in the US can make one worth a shit.

Also... on art on the front vs. back. We don't screen print. We emulsion print... Essentially, the fabric is dyed and no weight is added to the shirt at all... So breathability is not effected on the whole art on front vs. back thing.

Big on back and small in front. And no frigging high collar on a tee shirt!

Precisely this. I’m basically done buying black t-shirts. As someone from Texas, I’m sure you can feel the difference between a black shirt and a white one when you are outside. Do red, gray, yellow, anything else available. I’m over the rockasilly (tm) thing and roll more like a cholo in my khakis and white t-shirt (no Cortez tho’). My black shirts get used for changing oil and stuff.
But to answer your original question: I prefer any large pix on the back. If the design is on the front it should be across the chest and be about the size of the old Dewey Weber surf shirts max. I recommend that just to be tasteful.

Carhartt sells a high quality pocket T shirt but unfortunately not USA made. And they have their logo on the pocket which is obviously a no go. But back to the original question. Big logo on the back, small on the front. JMO

This is what is on my favorite t shirt. I want people to see it while I am talking to them... not While I am walking away

Interesting, it never occurred to me about an open jacket.
I won’t type anymore for fear of getting ridiculed.

I think it depends on the artwork. I have several HAMB shirts with front artwork. Got several with big art on the back, small front art. I have several that are long sleeve small HAMB on the front, clean back…for a T shirt, kind of classy

I like them in the front so I can identify our members while walking around at an event. If it is small or just on the back, I would never know as I don't make a habit of turning around and checking out peoples backsides.

Me too.................I even ruin my black shirts.

If you actually use the pocket on a shirt, it ruins the shirt when it gets wrinkley.

A friend lent me a CD years ago that asked a bunch of questions and then provided a psychoanalysis of me. It was actually a pretty decent analysis. The one thing that sticks in my mind was " you hate having to wear dress clothes and could actually become ill if force to wear them". I have told my wife that I want to be buried in bluejeans and a T-shirt (probably black but I don't know if its a good idea to try to persuade St Peter while wearing black). I think shes just going to put me in a vase.

T shirt wise, black is the only color which has a decent expectation of lasting. My suggestion is a small but recognizable logo on the front or nothing..........a medium size logo on the back (not overpowering) with the front ends of several rods and customs in a fan shaped parking with the noses pointing out..........and put it on some of those "breathable" shirts that let the sweat pass thru without looking like a sweathog . A quality shirt rather than an in your face cartoon screaming . Thats my recommendation.

For the passionate guys screaming for black shirts, would you please consider a white shirt for the guys who live where there are only two seasons, summer and December.
If white doesn't last long... I'll buy two or three.

For me the color doesn't seem to matter as I can get weld burns from BB's in any color!

  26. I like my shirts like the tires on my hot rods, big on the back, small on the front, 99% of my Tshirts are black and I prefer dark shirts, if I wear a light colored Tshirt I look like the Peanuts character Pigpen by the end of the day.

I don't buy shirts with big designs on the front. HRP

  27. I like art on the front. Lots of colors so that it hides the mustard, ketchup and all the other crap that I end up wearing when I try to eat standing up at shows.

All I know is that I wish the car shirts I bought were still Haynes Beefy-Ts.
I've got KKOA, etc., shirts from the 90s that are still good, and they were all Haynes.
The newer really thin shit sucks, IMHO, regardless of where the shirt is made.

But seriously, I only wear The Typewriter Repairmen t shirts, so my opinion doesn't matter.
