Now in Tustin where the hanger was and it remains are, the schools are closed due to the asbestos and airborne lead in the paint. Every one is being asked to keep their homes sealed up and not to wash down driveways.
Someone drilled a new well not far from Disneyland in Anaheim at Brookhurst and Ball Rd. in the early 60's
Southern California must be the only place in California where you're allowed to wash down your driveway.
Hello, Here in So Cal coastal areas, we are given the notice by our cities that washing down driveways is not good as all waters and crap eventually goes to the ocean. Many years ago, some local Boy Scouts painted a sign on a street drain and got a lot of publicity. Then the whole community organizations were all for painting them on street drains to warn folks of pollution. During the extreme water shortage, people did not wash cars on the driveways, using wheel cleaners and toxic sprays. Then it turned into any water hosing off of cars. Finally, the word was given to residents to not wash driveways or cars at home. Many hot rod folks started using the hand bottled spray and wash to keep the hot rods and customs clean. As far as the no watering at homes that drain into the street, the California drought brought down the gavel. Then we all adjusted to that ruling. Home owners are in the same situation so most go to water recycled commercial car washes. But, the big offenders are the huge grassy areas of golf courses that fertilize and water the grass... for what? Then it all goes into the runoff drains that lead to the ocean. Jnaki Despite the heavy winter and current rainy times filling up the vast reservoirs, there still is a shortage coming and going. Local people got accustomed to not hosing off the driveways, so that helps the end result of local ocean water pollution. Hot rod solution is a mist water spray to get the surfaces wet and then lightly clean the mist off,. It is similar to what we have been doing, only in less of a random water usage, wild spraying all over the place. It still gets the car clean and there is less of a mess afterwards. YRMV
