Perth smokes QLD beaches, sorry but it’s true. I lived in Northgate in Brisbane and went up and down the coast. I will say that the surfing is superior. My favorite beach in WA was just south of the public beach in Yanchep. It was a fun four years in Oz. Guthriesmith won’t be there long enough to really learn the okka.

I always thought Hawaii was the most beautiful place I had ever been until I went to Australia. If I had a needed skill that would get me time there, I would go in a heart beat. The northeast tip of Queensland is paradise

G'day Guthrie - the drags are on in Kwinana tonight if you are short on entertainment. It's not too far from the CBD by train (mebbe Uber). It will be all late model, but at least it's a V8-focussed night.

The northeast tip of Queensland is hot, humid and full of saltwater crocodiles (salties) and irakandji (small but deadly jellyfish)...

... at least that's what we tell the tourists to stop them all moving there :)

    Cheers,
    Harv

  8. Didn't @rooman return to Oz a few years ago?Though I have no idea where he landed or whether he's still there. He may have moved on again.

Just got back to the hotel after another great night with some Aussie hot rodders in Perth this time. @Barrelnose pickup got me hooked up with his mate Les who picked me up from the hotel in his very cool 32 Ford pickup hot rod. Les took me to see a mate of his, Phil who had a couple hemi-powered 34 Fords in the shed. Les and I stopped for some good pizza after leaving Phil’s and he took me back to the hotel. Anyway, I can’t get over the hospitality of the hot rodders down here. Here are a few pics from this evening. Now, I need to follow up on a panhead Harley once I get back to the states to see if it might make its way down here. We will see… :D

Glad you're having a good time. Just wondering about the tall manifold on the 8BA sitting in the bare frame? I don't remember seeing one with that logo.

You know, I didn’t even notice that logo until zooming in on the pic after you mentioning it. Not sure what that manifold is to be honest. I was just sort of shooting pics while also talking to Phil and Les. I do know that complete chassis was from under the coupe and is now slated to have a 34 roadster mounted on it later. :D

Just remembered you said you were going to be at Yamba? I don’t think I caught up with you or definitely didn’t put a name or face with your HAMB name if I did. :(

No Sweat Jeff, Never enough time when you are cruising around in a Hotrod catching up with hotrodders . But very glad that you enjoyed the night , I was a bit worried when you started sculling your 2 nd Lemonchello and Phil had another big bottle in the freezer all ready. You did good . Thanks for the great Pizza , that's probably why I look fat in the pic ! Take it easy Mate , catch you in the Northern Hemisphere one day .

Careful around Canberra. Dopey politicians have been known to step out in front of you for a photo opportunity or a sound bite. They're easy to get off the paintwork because they are made of Teflon and therefore don't stick to anything.

Just reading back through all the things guys said to do and realized that the pub you mentioned, the Grosvenor, happens to be the one we went to the first night I was in Perth. It was a happening place.

I’m glad you got to experience it and that it is still there, too bad you didn’t get any Nando’s.

Lol…I did actually work every day unless it was a day of travel or a weekend. I didn’t figure you guys wanted to see all the pics of the equipment stuff. Met with several salesmen and customers as well as made it to four dealerships.

But, yea, I can see how you might think that from this thread… :D:rolleyes:
