After Mass at St Pius Church, we also went to Knotts to hit the Chicken Dinner shop wearing our Sunday best. The park was free to enter back in the fifties, so it was a nice afternoon of meandering. Virginia's Gift shop was my mother's spot, my dad who was a Santa Fe engineer would watch the steam engine.
Born and raised in So Cal. Lived in Orange County since 1971. Went to Knotts when it was free to get in many times to just walk around when I was young with my parents and brother and again when I was married pushing a stroller with our son. I have never had a Chicken Dinner at Knotts and probably never will.
