neat! I can't imagine having one of these cars with a suffocating hardtop on it...for years....

I got the heater in and not leaking, so I'm tinkering with carpet.

  3. I’ve got the store bought version of that it’s nearly identical. Be careful of the balance they’re easy to tip over

  4. My hardtop has real cool paint so i like to run it sometimes but i much prefer the car with no top

The hard top does look a lot better than the soft top, for sure. But neither looks as good as topless

My new carpet is being delivered tomorrow, so I am going to be doing the same thing. Mine currently has black carpet and I never liked it, ordered red salt and pepper for it

I'm finding out my engine hoist will fit through the man door. :)

If done properly, a .060 over 427 will eat a 454 alive... Just some "Food for Thought"... ;):p

My dad bought this from one of the traveling sells guys around the early 90s also bought a press from them.
I really like this hoist it is a beast and has never gave any problems. Just need to remember to oil up the wheels every now and then.

Got mine from the MTS tool man that used to stop at the Olds dealership I worked at in the late 80's. Between myself and being loaned out, it's probably lifted hundreds of engines

It's more than likely the MOST USED tool in my shop... bar none! ;)

I have often thought about making the legs fold up for better storage then thought better. I just park it outside now.

I used my hoist today....but just to unload that 261 block. No pictures. But it's a neat hoist, I designed and built it 40 years ago, before you could buy them in town.

and sometimes a .040 over 427 can haul ass, too :) (picture from last year)

I have the same one also. I just take mine apart and lean it against the wall when not using it. Only takes a few minutes and takes up almost no room BA07A76B-4FCE-44D0-9A95-DFDB945A85E1.jpeg

I used to take mine apart after each use like @Moriarity but I'm getting too old and lazy to do that anymore

I have taken mine apart a time or two also. Used to load it in the back of a truck together, I'm over that now.
The tug to get that 235 in my basement was all I wanted today.
I like this hoist with the casters on all four wheels. The Walker at the shop in town only has them on the jack end and it can be a pane to use. I have removed and installed countless engines with this one by myself, and I would rather do it that way.

I've done countless engines with mine without casters under the load end, and it works fine...and it always goes the direction I point it, too. I guess if you're not thinking ahead, then it would be nice to have casters at both ends so you could end up in the right place, but it's never been an issue.

Some of the time I'm in the cramped space and making a straight stab at it just won't work.
