Ryan did a Thread on this technology titled Zeltango. It was an eye opener to many here including myself as I knew of the technology and its using the masses of information on the internet of everything one would imagine relating to well just about everything and it's being capable to create visual art in an incredibly short order from a written or spoken descriptive text.

    https://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/threads/zeltango.1303529/

Some of the work Ryan created using a subscribed app/program were absolutely stunning really...While it doesn't fulfill many criteria old methods of visual art can deliver, it is pretty capable of delivering a message or moment to use for anything one might desire, a concept, a printable visual, a screen background you name it...many times as is or with a little touch-up in an number of Photo manipulation Programs...

I had many concerns and still do but thought I'd give it a try and embrace it as a tool that it is...rather than a foe

So here's an Inspiration I did utilizing Photoshop, a Filters App, a Photograph I took at a recent Show and a Background created in AI with a description of my desire typed in...

    NielRhond_MERCWCB_RC4.JPG

    NielRhond_MERCWC.jpg

    NielRhond_MERCWCB.jpg

...The Custom is a friends and it has a musical theme in it's creation with a main focus of that the Treble Clef...While AI couldn't replicate this Custom Merc it certainly did an admirable job of giving me a backdrop to place it in digitally using older modern methods to finalize a vision I find in many ways excited to share...

I shared a few examples above as I find it tough to choose one...I have yet to gift this to my Custom Friends...

I hope this Thread continues well beyond my time as a living Proud Member...crazy thought eh...

So I open this Thread for you all to share your Hamb friendly AI generated or Modified AI assisted Imagery...

As an proclaimed Artist I do respect Copying of others work so I don't reference them in my exploring of AI for that reason, so I ask that one considers this in interacting with the platform...originality is the goal not duplication of others works...

Don't share just anything as many results are quite off the mark...be very discretionary, if you wouldn't hang it in your garage don't hang it here...:)

...A note to the Board, if now is not the time for such a Thread I'm okay with it. You have that discretion always and I respect it...

    Regards,
    Stogy

I asked for a 59 Cadillac with no wheels in great condition in a big old building surrounded by derelict vehicles...this is unedited...

I actually got 3 of 4 images I felt were Hamb friendly and presentable...

To me I was made a little more hopeful by the technologies effectiveness to generate all of what I asked...it couldn't...therefore still room for creativity in a more Artistic way...Mind you the program I used was free...Bing

To many I suspect I'm not even an Artist. I also believe I may have misinterpreted what you're implying. Perhaps you feel this has no place here. But when one doesn't explain what one is saying it is kind of left to interpretation...yes not for everyone...I believe it is another tool for me to explore my interests...and use discretion in what I'll share or modify it to get a pass...

Not only that, if you are a Graphic and or Traditional Artist you can feel some errie difficult to explain pride in knowing you helped the evolution of this with even perhaps a window for a future with it.

My AI thread got ruined by some hobby lobby themed bullshit… for this to be cool, it takes thought and work… and for it to be relevant here, it has to be traditional…

I’m gonna move this to antiquated and see how it goes.

Edit: reread this and I sounded harsh. Didn’t mean to… and I’m not bagging on anyone… I just don’t want to host a thread of cheesy AI images is all.

Thank you Jack, you want to see wow check Ryan's Thread out at the link above...I truly feel the images one creates through this technology are as individual as Artists are...I guess two factors play in this...Individual input and which program/app one uses...

Ryan has incredible knowledge of Automobile Design and History...I have a significantly simplified angle with what I'm requesting...as I don't know that area of expertise like he does...I really think the Program matters too...I can't match the detail or quality he was getting...

I still am pretty impressed at some of this imagery...

Ryan, I feel your Thread shouldn't have been closed...I did get caught up in the what's it gonna do to the field as in those that have a life around it. I'm sorry for my part in the negative that was an incredible Thread...

I have to thank you for your part in me trying the technology out...I have done some more images and will share them...

    You were producing amazing imagery...

Can't your Thread be reopened? Edit what you felt doesn't fit...or chalk it up to initial jittering and carry on...it was near Halloween so yeah I was festive with the Pumpkins...but again it may have been more the talk of the crash of employment for Artists...

Just add in reinstating that we keep the negatives out of it, AI or shut up...you did that with the Homogenized Thread and I forever thank you for that...over a million views and very few issues since that time...

I look at it this way...it's new Hot off the press shit applied to Hamb Friendly old history...you had us engaged, wowed and worried but you were knocking it out of the park...too boot I was eagerly awaiting where you would go with it as you weren't by any means in a tailspin...and your images were period correct...exotic to a degree...but much of that era was just that...

I would feel much better if that was to become a reality...someday you may have one of those custom images you Inspired created...the future is still before us even though the Hamb is Future Proof...

I like this, but I asked for a 1932 Ford Victoria...it passes as an A Bone...these are limitations of the technology or program...I'm curious what the program Ryan used would deliver if given the same descriptive text...

...create a photographic image of shiny gold and cream laced mid 60s styled 1965 Buick Riviera in an artistic showroom

...I did about six or more sets of 4 images to settle for this unedited image...

Ryan, I hope these are meeting your expectations...

AI struggles with vehicle, and detail specifics but gets pretty close sometimes...

These are all generated through Bing AI Creator...free, all that is required is a Hotmail address...

I still believe what you were using and I did make note of it was far superior in creative rendering juices...but what I'm using can still pack a punch...

This technology is very hit and miss...It really doesn't know cars like most here do. Why I say that is 59 Cadillac and 57 Chevys seem to get better likeness whereas a 1950 Mercury gets a very poor likeness...

Technically against a real 59 this is way off too but this again is a place where off is expected...pleasing off is preferred I suppose...

I guess the positive is with the Caddy being mildly off makes in essence a Custom...but if it's balanced...by that I mean 2 headlights on one side and 1 on the other is not balanced...

I asked for 1957 Chevrolet fins on this and got single tailights...I like this image...

AI seems to like the new...as in big ass tires and rims...that's a huge fail but I work at my details in the request till I get something that works, not always easy to do...

It doesn't do asked details very well...lowered for instance is mostly looked at in the modern sense...versus old style and yes there's a difference...

Asking for Flames gets a car on fire...fail...

Again I truly suspect the results via the numerous AI Apps/Programs is quite varied...

Another Caddy offshoot, I asked for a melding with an El Camino, aka the box...obviously couldn't decipher that out my request...but I can do that in inspiration after...this is like the last image a request for watercolor as a medium...kinda mixed with photo realism from my eyes...I like it very much...

Watch this...Credit to All That Inspired This

Some odd stuff going on but an admirable attempt at crunching data really...

Thanks to All that Inspired this, I only asked...;)...all the imagery out there in the www is sucked into a hardrive turned into data that relates to my request as in 32 Ford or Model A Ford Hotrod...and the program packs it all into a digital image...

I again must mention the fail rate on this is quite high...different programs may yield better or worse...I am very discretionary with what I'm sharing...I expect any others sharing do the same...

I see this as a tool that delivers an artistic experience...I'm wowed, astounded...an Artist prior to this tech but you need not have formal training at all. For quite some time I've utilized digital technology in my rendering but remain capable of creation with old school mediums...now this...is there room for our minds and hands. Absolutely...I consider my mind and hands AI in many ways...no one knows what I'll come up with...that is many times myself...;)

The images with potential are great candidates for further traditional digital editing methods if needed and I am modding one right now and it's typical of many inspirations I do here...time consuming...

...I took the unedited AI and did an Inspiration...sectioned the roof and moved it forward to make a Cad-El Camino...The trunk area was also modded to make a Flat Tonneau type cover in steel...and the original lower trunk seams removed...The Tonneau Style lid could use 4 Telescope type cylinders and raise straight up or hinge at fwd end of cover...You could even leave the severed aft trunk area as is and hinge it to tilt as well...I also added the missing right corner that was cut off in the Original image...

Honestly the whole AI thing kinda scares me but I guess it was the same thing whenever they came up with the camera, moving pictures, and then televisions. It was way far advanced and old folks like us don’t even understand how it works. But what you guys are doing with it is amazing!!
Im subscribing to this so I can watch what happens next :):):)

I do have one question for you, whenever you ask for the content do you specify what format it is done in? Like if you want a watercolor, oil painting, rendering (sketch), or photography?

I don't want Artists plagiarized...I also don't want modern stuff and this does tend to interpret more modern trends...Backgrounds are much better success's than the cars many times...People many times look like monsters...

I've had cars with front ends on the back...

create an 3/4 angle watercolor of a valley custom 39 lincoln zephyr coupe parked near a vintage mid 30s polished hudson aircraft at dusk

I don't think there is a 5 window Zephyr and while it shares common features its off, but I like this Image...The Aircraft is a not a Hudson either but a somewhat era correct Plane so again as a Hamb friendly I gladly share...
