^^ Those old camper shells like that are getting popular, while simultaneously getting hard to find.

Someone had a vision..... no taste, or skill, but definatly a vision.....

 

The answer is probably city ordinances. When our city passed a no junk car (and to them that meant anything that wasn't a shiny new daily) laws, that is where alot of peoples projects ended up. Some with tools and parts still in them.

 

Either not registered and insured, or owner passes away and family sells cars as junk to clean up property. Easier to sell junk than deal with buyers. These were in pick n pull Stockton last week and yes that is a hardtop convertible 57, the second I have seen in a year at a scrapyard

 

Note this truck has (at least one of) the Chevy 6 lug pattern high-clearance wheels, more famously known as Divco wheels although they were never on Divco trucks. Not sure if those still carry the same crazy following and value that they did 15 years ago but it's interesting to see.

 

this one isn't sitting & rotting anymore - a YT video came out recently about it's extraction & clean-up.

Lol...probably not. I bought it as a parts truck for one that is a stalled father/son project that is inside the shop. I have considered putting suspension under it to get it up off the ground though so it would be easier to move around... Or, I have considered letting it go knowing what these pickups bring sometimes...

 

@rusty1 Looks like Carl Chase's place maybe? If so, how is Carl these days? I did buy some stuff from him and was real happy with it, but I've heard from others he can be hard to buy from, and he's never particularly cheap. He does have a lot of good stuff though.
