  2. So can I assume you are not going to start referring to your brakes as bray brays?

  3. 7 across: Electrical device that distributes voltage to the spark plugs of a gasoline engine in the order of the firing sequence.
    7: d i s t r i b u t o r not distributer……you better use dizzy, it’s safer.
I’m sorry. I never do the spelling police thing but that is pretty damn funny.
    Oh the irony!

  4. VIN number for VIN Huh?

Spigot was so mispronounced that "spicket" is now acceptable ..Called a regional dialect thing.

Alanp561, no discussion to be had, Chrysler are the superior product. But more than happy to discuss other world changing issues over beers.

Nope, them is American, so them is Zee Zee Top.

The Australia New Zealand Banking Group Limited (ANZ bank) is local, so is called the Aye En Zed bank. Our Kiwi brothers live in En Zed.

  13. Ya gotta love Foster Brooks!
Not to sidetrack this thread, but Foster was telling someone (Dean Martin? Johnny Carson?) about his experience during their most recent earthquake: (imagine Brook's drunken stutter) I was in bed with Mrs. Brooks, performing my husbandly duty when the earthquake hit. It threw me right out of bed.... and it almost woke up Mrs. Brooks!" It just doesn't get much better than that!

Wait a minute! That one- Third member! WTF is that about? What are the other 2? Do we call our engines a first member? What a stupid term- seems lazy, like the guy that named the Fire Place. And what if it's a four wheel drive? Does the transfer case become the Third member, the differential the Fourth? So my truck has Two Fourth members? Or is the front one a Fifth member? Help!

Both Zerk and Welch were the names of the inventors of the products, so you’re correct.

I have the same ones as usual. Why does a 63 Vette coupe have to be called a split-window? Was there one that wasn't? And don't gimme the "...and some ppl cut that out when the 64 came out..." because that would be the discussion starter were that the case.
The one that gets me is "radiator fluid" which for a lifetime was called just what it was, antifreeze. Now it isn't. I'm a caveman working on dinosaurs. Fuck new terminology.

Yeah, yeah. I'm one of those morning people. My wife would tell you I'm an excitable person. Classic type A. Doctors tell me I need to take on less. All that.

I'd like to know how many smooth brained mopes it took to completely change an industry standard. "Body in white" meant pickled steel with a light phosphate wash, ready to take coatings. Imagine my surprise back in 2004 when the proto shop I was working in ordered a new Mustang body-in-white to have it come in with...white paint. Yes, it is now indeed what you get when you order one and not just from Ford. Those at that level look at me like I'm the fkn idiot, except as far back as my Packard Sales Manual from 34, the bare sheet metal was "Body-In-White", when I read the write up on the new Sox & Martin Pro Stock, their bare body was a "Body-In -White" in that article. Or, I dunno, maybe I can't read...o_O

    No, that would be weird!

And still, no explaination why one letter (Z) needs to be turned into three letters (ZED), like the thread title, it just makes no sense, EH!:D
