  1. The 55 Lincoln Futura for me. But I'll just have to be happy with the model. 20161007_231413.jpg 20161007_231448.jpg 20161007_231526.jpg

There is so many. But none would have a generic sbc or Windsor. Unlikely to have an auto trans either.

I watched a TCM movie just yesterday, "It Started With a Kiss", where Glenn Ford won a Lincoln Futura in a raffle. Show was from '59 I think. How many Futuras were built?

Make the 15 minute drive over to Moriarity's place and take a bunch of detailed pics of one of his cars then duplicate it. Drive it to the Minnetonka Drive In and watch the looks on the regulars faces as they they to process that it isn't Mark driving it. One loop then off into the sunset.;)

Ditto on this one. Even the green with Alan Green Chevrolet of Seattle livery. Too cool.

Wow! It's been 28 years since I acquired this poster for the Meadow Brook Hall Concours d'Elegance. I have always wondered exactly what car was shown in the poster.
DSCN1727.JPG Now I know. And I want to amend my earlier choice to this car also...
    Bidding war!

BTW, my wife and I were at the vintage races numerous times held concurrently with the show, at Waterford Hills road course, as corner workers. Saw some beautiful EXPENSIVE race cars there every year.

enough money to buy and keep it in operation? sooooo many cross my mind, all kinds of beauties; but for an end-all, be-all car, and car alone, a clone of the California Kid. TV flames and all. I WOULD prefer a stock one, but wouldn't want to deal with mechanical brakes, etc etc.... it WOULD have to be steel, though.

Stroker McGurk style roadster using a Shadow rods 27 XL body, sectioned 32 grille, 6cyl. inline engine, 3 pedals . I would consider a Flathead V8 also.

I already shot my wad on my coupe. Might have another one in me. This time a mild custom.

If I had enough stupid money, I would build a Jules Verne time machine

    D36E88C5-4FC3-4798-9896-17D9F68CF275.jpeg

With the money left over I would travel back to 1932 and buy a Roadster, travel to 1957 and pick up a vette
Travel back to today and drive the wheels offem
Of coarse I would take my dog with me

There was no HK500 in '55 and when they did they all had big block wedge motors.

Brother, I had your car when I got married in 82. Think I bought it in 77-78. It was a 64 powder blue, blue interior, Riv. Super Wildcat 465. That was the 425 nail head with two Carters. I was told that in the cubic inch wars of the 60's, Buick used the torque rating to make the engines sound bigger. I think it was rated at 390 HP. Four bucket seats. The doors were so long a person in the back seat couldn't reach the door handles, so they put another handle in the back of the arm rest. AC, AM/FM, power seats, steering, , Turbo 400 trans, 308 posi rear. Finned Aluminum Buick script valve covers, Finned aluminum hub caps that bolted to the wheels. When I put it through MD inspection they thought the dimmer switch on the floor was bad. When they were testing the high beams, they would instantly click back down to the lows, so they put a new switch in, and they still wouldn't work. They told me the headlights failed. I asked if they covered the sensor on the dash? Mechanic threw his ball cap over the torpedo shaped sensor and all was good. The high beams flashed off the wall and told the sensor to dim the lights. I ran the car at 75-80 Dragway a lot. One of my best races ever. The car was so big and heavy I'd just floor it when the second yellow lit up, and cut a mean green light. I just pulled up and staged, no burnout, what was the point. A kid pulled up next to me and started doing burnouts, in a Smokey and the Bandit black and Gold, Turbo six. When he first pulled up, he waved, so I waved back. He did a couple more burnouts and flipped me the Bird. WTF? He finally staged and I cut a good green light and put 2 cars on him, and held them all the way through the quarter. In the return lane he came running up, "What's in that car, you smoked me"? Just looked at him and said, "130,000 mile Buick Motor, what's in yours?" I think the car would squeeze into the 14's on a good day. Going slow, can be fun!

Though several models of cars, trucks and time machines were similarly styled, I believe this model is the H.G. Wells time machine.

I know this isn't what you had in mind, but, it's pretty close. The car from the windshield back is a 37 Cord 810. It had a 48 Lincoln front clip grafted on it. Under the Lincoln fenders are the original Cord fenders with the crank out headlights, the cranks were still inside. You can see the lead line around the nose of the hood, the Cord Coffin nose is still there. Engine is an early Olds Rocket, It was wearing an Offy intake with 6, 97's. Trans is also an early Olds, 4 speed automatic, and the rear is a Columbia 2 speed out of the Lincoln. It was built by a guy named Wentz in the early 50's in Baltimore, and he had it titled as a home made car, and called it a 1952 Cord Amatic. A local car nut found out I had it. He remembered when Wentz had it on the show circuit. He said it was broke down as often as running. The local guy said he either had the original drive train to "this car", or he just had a complete Cord drivetrain. Anyway, he caught me short on money. I sold my 39 Ford Coupe to buy this one, then sold this one to buy my first FED. If I had Lotto money, I think I'd have a clone of this one built to trailer a clone of my first FED.
