Towing a 35 foot (house) trailer with a 50 Buick (straight 6?) to Alaska says more about the Buick than anything else in the article...Probably had a bumper hitch as well.
---- BTW, I remember those Buicks (maybe others) used to clang and bang going down the road. It wasn't until after I started driving (1963) I learned the noise was caused by the E- brake cable banging on the torque tube.
This picture takes me back..... When I was a kid my parents were friends with an older (in their 70s I'd guess, which makes me 'older') couple who had a farm a couple of miles from us. They had a whiteface bull that I'd say was a somewhat bigger than this one. Name was "Oscar" and he scared the shit out of me!!! He was frickin' huge! The Mr. of the couple was about 5 feet tall and a bit overweight and relied on a cane to get around. That bull could have knocked him on his ass with a switch of the tail, but Oscar was like a puppy dog with that guy.....follwed him around, always waiting for face rubs, just a big ol' cuddle buddy. What a sight those two made. Thanks for posting!
Funny story, my grandfather raised Herefords all my life and I grew up around them, and it was really similar to your story, most every bull we ever had was loving and they were great friends. We still have 12 roaming the same pasture and our 3 year old bull is just the same. If only they knew what they were capable of is exactly right.
