Whenever I see a photo of a board track I’m amazed by the amount of board feet used in the construction and also the labor that was involved.

Bet the Sierra Club would have had something to say about it.
    And not good things either!

This photo was downtown Greenville TX IMG_9837.jpeg at the northwest corner of Lee and Stonewall streets during the 1940s. Things are hopping at the Woolworths.

I don’t see Flounder’s Lincoln in the parking lot. The 1957-58 DeSotos are my favorite Mopars of the 50’s.

  12. Shirley Muldowney. She never like. the name "Cha Cha". I saw her race at Connecticut Drag-way many years ago when she went by the "Cha Cha" name.

  13. Unfortunately, Steve Bovan got mixed up with wrong people, and that was his un-doing.

A friend as a teenager worked for the company who assembled and disassembled the board track that was at Wrigley Field in Los Angeles before the war. The boards were all numbered and were held in by dowels. From what he said the crew was large enough to do it in a few hours.
During the war he was a lower turret gunner on B-17’s and made it back. A great guy and hard working electrician that mentored me along with others.

Where is this? Looks short for even a 1/8 mile. However looks inviting and much simpler time!
