Nothing to go racing but somehow unusual even when there are a lot fans still around here. Incredible sound you can hear from miles away from the 10lt 2-stroke glow head diesel

I’ve always had a thing for just about any internal combustion engine, here’s a 1908 gasoline engine designed by William R. McKeen for a powered, passenger rail car. Notice the long lever at the top, center of the photos, read the caption to learn it’s function

Gurney Weslake heads. I had an almost identical set for a SBF, with a rare 4V intake. Weber carbs also bolted directly to the ports.

Is that a slide valve fuel injection system on there?

Yes, those are slide valve injectors. The heads were developed by Harry Weslake for the 1969 Plymouth Indy car program. The Plymouth Indy car/Formula 5000 effort only won one race.

I wonder if the point on the firewall tank was done "to improve aerodynamics"???

Dig the right side tandem rubber.

Looks like it might be a huge V4 slightly tilted for a better view out front.

Standard set up on many full size marine engines which are directly coupled to the propeller, nowadays servo assisted of course.

...and what, if anything, was it used to power?
