Some of you may remember when Chris was selling this pickup a few years ago. 8 months worth of work and it is almost ready to deliver to the customer. Wiring still needs to be completed. IMG_3053.jpeg IMG_3096.jpeg IMG_5643.jpeg IMG_5680.jpeg IMG_6070.jpeg

Yeah she was a very rough truck. The owner wanted a modern feel but wanted to keep the patina.

Great work. The truck turned out awesome! How did you paint the engine?

I recall the thread that @Chris started on the truck when he found it.
    (Assuming the same Chris).
Nice job, wished your customer would have deferred the “patina” :)

That is some fantastic work on a sweet little truck. I wonder why the door hinge pockets were so hammered, not a super common thing on those old rigs...

Get out and get some miles on her.

Both lower hinges were blown out. The check straps were long gone. The doors both actually fell off the first time we opened them.

Yep. Same Chris. Thank you for liking it. I was cool that the customer kept the patina. He likes my cars, they are all patina cars. Don’t have to loose sleep over that tiny ding or scratch and it saved him a heap of cash.

    Nice truck, good save!

  27. Great work!
Were the rear fenders narrowed or made up of different donors?

The outside of the rear fenders were really rough. Multiple old fixes and very thin metal. I found the green fenders for sale. I think they were woodie or sedan delivery. I used them to repair what was lost.

  29. If you want a hanging pedal assembly, the one from a '52-'56 Ford car will fit the '40-'47 cab like it was custom made for it. About the doors--I had the same issue on my '38. If the check straps are gone, the doors will open too far and you will get metal fatigue cracks around the hinge attachment.
