Everybody has seen the Magic Muffler Fiat that Jim Miles was driving when the bottom end left the block, but how many know one of his earlier fuel cars was the ‘34 coupe pictured in the above post by @HemiDave ?
Searching turned up what I believe to be the original posting of that image and a slightly diferent angle of the same scene. www.flickr.com/photos/ylvas/289379805 Some discussions from that site suggest the photo was taken in Norway. They were driving on the right side in Norway at that time. I think it has something to do with the traffic situation that they meet at left. The road was not for big busses - a common problem in Norway at that time. And it was deep in one side and high on the other mostly The coach was operated by a British company, Mororways (Overseas) Ltd that pioneered continental coach touring after the Second World War. The coach's bodywork was built by Harringtons of Hove and the dorsal fin was part of their patent air-conditioning system. Very interesting photo. The coach is a 1949 Commer Avenger 1. The company had four coaches like this one. The dorsal fin was part of the "aircondition". The Buick is a 1953 Estate Wagon, the last year Buick used real wood in their cars.
