It wasn't as fun as the day we went to the drags but we did drive it around town a few times. A bout 6 miles this year. Wish the seats were in it. 242249939_4680570985300484_8959228652114023879_n.jpg 299385630_1075096026457533_6086886761566563923_n.jpg 289789802_5578634465494127_8627893936655955736_n.jpg

Checked the gas log I keep (actually each car has one) and we went just over 1300 miles.
Starting the NewYear Monday with about 150 with a multi-canyon cruise with a group. My first time with them even tho it’s an annual tradition. Thanks to Blues4U for the invite. Hoping for some photos to share. IMG_6277.jpeg

Although my odometer works, I don’t know how accurate it is so I never look at it. I’m guessing I put maybe 2000 miles on the Lincoln.

I used the mileage for a gas gauge in years past.

150 no matter what the gauge says. That’s why I keep a book. Oil and filter changes, batteries, grease jobs on the 56, etc. when I had 5 cars it taught me to keep a book. I’ve got a few in waiting. IMG_0276.jpeg

I had what I would call an above average year of hot rod miles in 2023. I drove my A coupe, my deuce roadster, and my friend Russell "Duck" Guy's 32 roadster over 17,000 miles between May 1st and Oct. 10th. The trips included runs to the Hot Rod Reunion in Bowling Green, the Good Guys Nashville, The Triple Crown event, The Old North State Invitational, The Gathering at the Roc, The Speedway Motors Museum, Bonneville Speed Week, a trip to Montana and another trip to Nevada. Also numerous miles of almost daily cruises around my home area. 20230504_091823.jpg 20230505_155805.jpg 20230506_140646.jpg 20230715_113532.jpg 20230807_112411.jpg 20230806_095107.jpg 20230806_162352.jpg 20231005_214837.jpg 20230714_091559.jpg 20230715_121631.jpg

Got the 46 running in April ish in time to make the first trip out of town to a swap meet and back into the garage in October after the trip to the roc. I’d guess maybe 1,000 miles give or take. Spent a lot of time parked waiting for parts to be finished/ refinished. And my work commute is almost enough time to open the thermostat so even taking it to work it’s not really adding much.

@BigJoeArt got all the miles in this year at over 10k on his Bucket of Tea he got on the road in like March? That guy was always somewhere in the car.

hopefully in this new year I can get the 46 back in time, fix what broke on the Oklahoma trip and rack some good miles up in 24’

About 1000 miles on the roadster and about 1000 miles on the pickup as it was stored for 8 months due to selling the shop bldg. Hope to get a lot more miles in this 54ChevyPUFront.jpg year!

My 49 Plymouth coupe only got around 200 miles this year! Put it up for sale because I knew it wouldn't see many miles this year (did not sell) and the plates expired at the end of April.

The 49 Dodge truck is my year around daily driver these days, that sees an average of about 150 miles a week, so that adds up to 7,800, then add the 400 miles for the WI Hot Rod 100, an 800 mile round trip to Omaha, about 1400 miles round trip to Lloydfest, and a couple 300 mile weekends (probably more, but we will count 2) and the numbers add up to... some where near 11,000 miles on the truck.

I'll be more accurate next year, we started recording for gas stops on the Lloydefest trip.

2023 turned out to be a fun year with the truck. Looking forward to where we may end up going in 2024.

Probably 9,000 between the Model A and the 3800, mostly on the A. Hard to be sure since the speedo broke in the truck a couple of years ago and the one in the roadster reads at about 1/2 the actual speed.

Traded Howard Farwell my 32 Ford sedan project for his 32 Ford running/driving pickup in early summer. I drove it almost everyday until the first of Dec when I put it in the shop for some R&R. I'm guessing 7-8000 miles. Looking forward to many more as soon as the salt is off the roads.

I neglected every other car I own while I worked to keep one running.

Wound out the year just a tick over 10,000 miles.

started off with a trip to LSRU (2000 mile trip, with 200 miles on the car)

@32fenderless wins the passenger award after riding the 1000 wet, cold miles home with me from Austin

    Some days it was warm,

    Other days it was not,

And some days I dressed up (Gathering at the Roc)

    but all those miles, were:

    .No mufflers
    .No top
    .No seat belts
    .No front brakes
.No trailers! (Just that one time my buddy pulled me off the highway with a ratchet strap)
    And last, but not least,
    .FUN!

It was a great year, even though it was cold and rainy a lot around here.

I daily drive my 5w so much this year that the battery in my modern car was dead when I went to drive it. Also I had a ton of deliveries all over NC this summer so I made sure I had fun doing it! And 3 trips to Georgia and Tennessee helped rack em up too. All in all I’m right at 20k for the year.
