Those two companies are AMMUSCLE and CLASSICPARTS4U - As far as I know, AMMUSCLE has the best early Chevy steel reproduction body parts that I've seen. Excellent quality with a growing inventory of much needed parts for the builder/restorer. I found AMMUSCLE on eBay way back in 1995 when I purchased my '31 in March of 1995. All they had available at that time were all of the patch panels on the bottom of the coupe all around. Of coarse, I bought them on the spot, very happy that these parts were available. What was NOT available at that time was the steel floor parts, so I used my originals as a template to a local hotrodder and made me thicker steel floorboards and coated them with POR-15 for long lasting protection. I just need to remove the rumble stop to make my '31 a "trunk" car soon enough. All in for new Chevy hot rod projects!

I didn't need to topcoat those floorboards I had made and painted because they were under the seat and in the rumble area. I did replace the wood floors from under my feet, toe board and had to leave out the "tool area" with new steel (pics enclosed).

    Thanks for the feedback.

I did some more research since posting my question here and believe that the running boards sold by AM Muscle were made by Smoothie Fabrication. Smoothie announced they would be shutting down as of 12.31.23 so Im expecting the AM muscle boards wont be available anymore.

What did yall use for the portion over the windshield. I thought I had the wood, but I don’t. Thought about using steel but would be a ton of work. Plus the garnish molding screws in the it I think

I'm not positive on this, but that area above the windshield had a mechanism that allowed you to raise the windshield about 4" or so straight up for nice cool breeze in the early Chevrolets. At least this was true for my '31. I'm going to try and use the Ford Model A mechanism to pull the windshield out a few inches from the bottom and lock it tight. I'm also going to install a brand new cowl vent to be welded in for even more cooling! Heck, I'd love to use the original swamp cooler that hangs on the window and filled with dry ice? Pricey, but may find one cheaper...

hmm it may different for 33-35 I don't think the window moves at all. I think it's just glued in. Now the trucks I think they have a pivot windshield

What year Chevy is that? I just acquired a 1934 Chevy 5 window coupe. Maybe your friend could share some valuable advice before I start on mine. I’d really appreciate it.

We believe it to be 32, replaced the wood with square tube. Other than that seems pretty straight forward

Exactly the advice I need my 34 came with all this wood. I believe it is a wood kit for my 34 but an older kit and might not be complete. Most of it is labeled and in small bundles. Much of the wood still remains in my 34, so I doubt all this stuff came from mine. I’m considering using square tube instead of wood, but I sure would like to see something that helps me understand the methods used rather than trying to “re-invent the wheel” myself.

Here are some pics of my 35, no wood in it. When I got it. I won’t be using those hidden hinges. I just bought some 18ga sheet to use for the inner door skins and the deck lid.

Man, she's shaping up to be a great looking hot rod! Brother, just my 2 cents... Seeing that hole for your gauge panel setup is just way too large, you may consider using a piece of cardboard to make a template from. Fill in with a new piece of steel to cover that hole completely. Then when you come across the right gauge panel to your liking, use it to trace onto your dashboard. Keep up with your progress!

Appreciate it, I’m using an auburn style insert that’s pretty big so I had to cut it pretty large to fit in. I still have to trim it more.

Nice to see four springs on it too. I would love to see some more photos of this plus build photos if they are available
