Using them for valves not falling on the floor insurance
I’ll use the spring cups and o-rings just like old man gm did

looking great, not sure if you mentioned it already, but if running a mechanical fuel pump looks like you may need to notch that crossmember

On your valve seals I've converted all my stuff over to viton in recent years. The guide has to be machined down some to fit, but I consider it cheap insurance for not having to pull the heads off.

  7. Picked up a couple carbs at lloydfest.
The center one seems to be in the best shape.
    There are some linkage differences.
    IMG_4330.jpeg
the rear carb linkage is an ez fix.
The center one shouldn’t affect a thing.

I can remove and plug this vacuum port
    IMG_4332.jpeg
Ive got this manual choke top. I’ve got all the pieces with it.
shouldn’t make a difference, should it?

For some stupid reason I think it may not work. Bowl venting or accelerator pump?

    Cotter pins and grease fittings.
We’ll get it painted then grease it.
Had to notch for the stabilizer bar under the core support mount. We will make a small spacer for the stabilizer bar frame mounts.
Core support was lowered for radiator clearance.
    Started bending brake lines.

  13. Students back this week.
We’re covering basic hammer and dolly work. Bout got this fender dialed in

Looking good . Great skills being taught. Your a great teacher

  18. Wish I had a good before pic on the fender. Previous owner pounded on it with a ball peen and the headlight area was pushed in. Plus some previous filler work.
This was during the straightening and pulling
This is after being roughed out

  20. Before-after. Still haven’t touched it with a file. Has a couple areas that might get it. The grinding marks are from the previous repair. All hammers (a small ball peen mostly) and a shrink disc.

we had it close at the end of last school year but yesterday we fine tuned and fit the headlight bucket.
The trim under the headlight and the blinker assembly was a job to re-shape the fender to fit.
I’ve got a 51 parts car. I didn’t realize subtle difference between early 51s and later 51. The parts car had the early style flathead trans the other had the style used until 64. The parts car headlight buckets are aluminum with a pot metal ring. The other had steel buckets with a stamped ring.

  27. We replaced a headlight bucket and trim ring. Fixed the rest. Not bad for an old wreck. Have one small piece to fab under the headlight. IMG_6422.jpeg
