Check This thing out. Just brought it out of hiding. She is running a 1956 chevy 265, 55 ford drum brakes on a straight axle, and a 57 ford 9 inch out back. I love the wood interior. Needs a little finishing, but I am absolutely in love with this little truck.
I absolutely love it! I applaud your fitting the 265 in there with the stock firewall and radiator. Are you running a mechanical fan? Pat
My plans for this one are to finish it, and drive it. A little bit of padding on the seats, a removable insert over the wood, and maybe some hubcaps on the rims.
Wow Jim, how about some backstory on that ol girl. Now I know they are as rare as chicken lips and most would cry "dont cut it up" but I actually would expect something like what you are known for, a bit more radical. Whenever I see one of these Willys panels I'm reminded of the model I built, can't recall exactly, in the late 60's or early 70's, not positive but I think I painted it red.
Very nice! The aftermarket headlights almost make them look normal. Ad some logo to the sides and call it done. Bob
The story is a good one. 15 years ago I found this little gem in a small town outside of spokane. The old guy that had it was only willing to sell it if I agreed to buy his badly rusted out 33 willys coupe and delapitated 1934 chevy 3 window as well. When I got it home and did a little metal work on it to make it presentable, I sent my friend a few pics of it. He was in love, soI packed it up and sent it off to him as a builder. Over the next couple of years I built the coupe and the chevy and he started in on the sedan delivery. My friend had a vision of a so cal surf rig, and I think he pulled it off quite well. 15 years later and here it is. He has went onto other projects and had no plans of finishing it up in the near future, so I got it back to finish the job.
Yea, its a 36 sedan delivery. As far as I know they only made deliveries in 1935 and 36. My 33 coupe also has a 35-6 nose on it. I like them better, and they are a lot more affordable.
I love your new sedan delivery Willys! I've been curious about that yellow '33 coupe that you built many years ago. Do you happen to still own it? I love that car!!
