We helped out Cody with some of the louvers on the 35 Chevy project for Dave Thomas..

    Hood sides

Inner fenders, clamped into a rotational fixture (mini cooper wheel hub) to accommodate the panel crown

And a bead detail to accent the hood louvers..

We don't do louvers that often, so the challenge was a welcomed break from our normal ho-hum rust repair.. Thanks Cody!!

Louvers in a deck lid are stupid. I built my louver press. My brother made the dies 40 some years ago. I have louvers on several of my rods. This is my Willys. img191.jpg

His humor is sarcastic, and perhaps a bit ironic also. He likes louvers, as long as they're tasteful, like yours are, and not overdone.

Not the smartest idea if you do a lot of road miles a long way from home me thinks. As in, I'll punch 200 louvers in my deck lid and then head 2180 miles to Bonneville with my dufflebag, tent, sleeping bag and tool bag jammed in the trunk under those louvers and hope for no rain on the trip.
Cool if you built it to race at Bonneville and the slots actually let trapped air out.

I did pick up a couple of matching panels to use as hood sides from a guy who was setting up a new louver press in the Maple Valley Wa area a couple of years ago. these are intended to be the hood sides for my boat tail speedster or may end up on a T modified that I have parts laying around for.

Had Posies do the deck lid and hood tops while down at Hershey this year. Great service! IMG_5472.jpeg IMG_5397.jpeg IMG_5495.jpeg
