I rode it into town to get a wof. No luck, the guy was too busy. Just my luck, it pissed down on the way home, got soaked, just like the old days! The roads were very (opposite lock) greasy..... Whoop whoop! Yeehaw!

 

Well howdy neighbor!
We had a day out at a local sports park supporting our emergency services teams. Rides on show while we cooked 1200 sausages to give away to the public.

 

..... And then home to drop off the left front stub, to do a set of kingpin bushes!

 

Fresh kingpin, cotter pin and bushes all done! Good to go!

Mrs W has talked me into a road trip to the Jalopy Dust Up with the RPU on the trailer, may even get the tires dirty. JW

 

Accommodation booked, filling in the entry forms now.

 

I am thinking of going too. Just need to finish off my roadster - nearly there. Do you think they allow trailer queens.

 

Ask Noddy. It's his circus. I am not sure how optional wof and rego are.

 

Well fellas, we made it to the 2024 Jalopy Dust up at Waihi Beach, for a great days racing. We spent the day playing cat and mouse on the track, watching vintage stocks, 3/4 midgets and a few local stock cars on the track.
We just got home and unpacked, will wash off the clay on the car tomorrow.

This was the 3rd race for me for the day. The guy I was racing in this one slid up the bank in the next race and rolled the car! He got out safe and well with a bit of remedial work required for the car.

 

Here's a couple i took for ya. What a great day. If anyone wants to know, 1st race Wade whipped my butt! JW

 

Yes mate it was an awesome day! I found myself standing there trying to to just take in the moment. After 9 years of building the car, 11 years of driving, showing, drag racing and barely so much as having to do an oil change, loving every minute of it!
Oh, and just for the record....... We won every race we ran! Yeeee frikken haw!

 

I believe you had the best sounding and one of the smoothest handling car in the hot rod section...i wonder why. For the record i did win my 2nd race (against car 28). Wade, great to catch up after ten years. JW

The last round of racing we were allowed a passenger, and the ones when we were wearing hats was the "parade of hot rods" when we all went out at once for a few laps. Cheers.

You have built a great looking Jalopy JW! I look forward to seeing the belly tank getting dragged along behind it sometime soon!

 

No wonder u got beat - steering on wrong side for counter clock wise track. Laughing. Great pics & sure great time. At age 16 killed old merc racing in a circle around pasture field with 2 friends. Flat field spin out into weeds nothing to hit.

 

It's the Coriolis Effect. The cars from the club that own the track all ran clockwise.

 

Shame about the coupe rolling. Looks like a cool car and he looked like he was full send. Hopefully it's not too beaten up.

You car looks and sounds great woodbox.
