    I know this is
    too new for HAMB
not good for modern traffic with just rear brakes and the extreme bigs and littles
not ergonomic with the vertical column
    I DON'T CARE, I dig it!!!

It does have good proportions, & good looks to go with it.

I don't care for the vertical columns either. But Short Track Driver, Randy Sweet, used one all his racing career. He really got up on the wheel and drove like a mad man. I think they can be very ergonomic.

Bird used to sell T bucket kits, mini bikes, etc. I remember the ads in the old magazines.

Just found that one on the net. I would guess who ever took the picture drug it home with them. If they didn't they sure as hell should have.

  26. I know they weren't really a "performance" engine, but man, those Poly 318's sure could be dressed up as a looker!

Strangely, a poly is the modern answer to wedge and hemi chambers.
I was subscribed to a mag that followed the efforts to revive that configuration and they made some pretty good power from new casting heads.
The issue is that this effort in the 2000s brought the 50s engine into the 80s. with aluminum heads, big inches and good flow. Truly a dare to be different, but for the same money a SBM could be done that was lighter and smaller.

Randy Sweet; Father of using rack and pinion steering in circle track late model stock cars about 1978. Bruce, I wonder how he was able to use a vertical column?
