I put an SBC in my 37 Ford about 30 years ago and now want to replace the lower radiator hose. I have the Gates number from the sticker that was on the original hose but none of the parts houses here in town can find it or an interchange. I had originally picked it up by searching the hoses at a friends store so I never new the application. The Gates number is 20412. Who can help? Somebody must he putting SBCs in late 1930s Fords these days. What are the usung?
so what is the original application of that particular hose? and do you have a picture of it? (I guess I should look it up on the link...) thank you.

......Cant really go behind the counter these days....i use copper elbows when in a jam...works every time...
Was surprised when I googled the part number advance Auto didn't pop up. They're who I usually use for odd stuff lol
My local supplier's electronic catalogue shows that number listed for a '63 Ford Galaxie 352 / 390 lower rad hose, among others. Available, but a 3 day wait.
I actually ordered a Gates one from Rock Auto last week, should be here Wednesday. I’ll let you know what it’s like.
The days of going behind the counter and digging through the hoses until you find the one are long gone unless you used to work there or know somebody that works there that will let you. That bad part about the NAPA main store in the distribution center they keep very little in the store itself and use the warehouse for ordering stuff that not in stock. It’s an inventory thing that they do but when I worked there before retiring I used to be able to root around the warehouse and find all kinds of stuff. That’s why all the street rodders and car guys (and their wives) came to my store because I could get anything they wanted especially if they had a dead body for me to compare it with.
I got the hose. I'd first gone to Advanced. They had no info. Wasn't in their system. They let me go in the back and browse the hose rack. That surprised me but I found nothing there. I then went to Autozone Nothing there either. And they, too. let me browse their hoses. At that point was when I posted my appeal. An early response showed the O'Reilly had it. We have an O'Reilly here so I went over there and got one. Thanks to you all for your replies.
Frank, Since this got you across the finish line, could you post up the upper hose number you use too? It could be useful in the future for someone looking through the HAMB. Oh, and change title to 37 Ford SBC radiator hose... make it easy to find.
Upper hose I put on when built in 1988 was NAPA 8344. Needed to replace in 1995 but no longer listed. Browsed rack and picked NAPA 7511. Application unknown. I'm using a straight-up thermostat housing I think is from a van. It's offset slightly forward and clears my 14" air filter. Radiator is Griffin with upper hose connection on driver side.
