35MM Kodak Ektachrome Film 1.4 x 50 mm lens Pentax Camera Hello, When we were 20 somethings, we went to Europe on a extended trip. By the time we got to Paris at the end of the month long trip, we were tired, but let our “awareness” of the surroundings slip a little. The night before this photo, we had gone to see the Arc De Triomphe. The night photo was supposed to be the best. So, off we went. In our research, we figured out the “Place de la Concorde” was a mile away. But as we walked around, that was the showcase spot for a time exposure photograph showing the lights of the Ave. Champs-Elysees. Since the "underground rail" dropped us off at the Place De Concorde, we were on our night adventure. But, as I mentioned, we forgot several things about European drivers and different cities. As we were walking toward the central fountain, there was no traffic. So, we crossed. Looking for traffic from the right. Well, the traffic was coming from the left and we almost got run over by a big sedan. (The Place de Concorde is a traffic circle or roundabout island. ) After a long sit down spell and allowing our hearts to calm down, I set up my camera to shoot the long time exposure photo of the Arc De Triomphe. Jnaki So, the next day we were on our way to see the famed Eiffel Tower. This time we looked both ways and saw a mass of traffic going all over the place. But, in the middle of the usually dark or light sedans of the same color, comes this very colorful “enclosed glass bus.” This time, I had changed over to the same color slide film and now used a 85mm 1.8x Pentax lens for "close up" shots, but still far away from the subject. We waited until the traffic died down a little and the bus was in front of the Eiffel Tower. No, we did not go on that bus. It looked extremely hot despite the possible A/C inside. We liked the low key approach of walking and enjoying the sights by ourselves. Safety first... ha! Lessons learned from the harrowing escapade the night before with "Paris" traffic patterns... YRMV
