Southern Flyer has ran 5.22 in the 1/8th. Should be around 8.20-8.30 in the 1/4. Not sure about the stock frame rails. Little 475 bbf, weighs around 3150.

yes and no. Yes I was thinking IRS on the corvette. But he posted no IFS just straight axle. As suggested I checked, the rules, it says no IFS on fenderless cars. That makes sense as it would be a waste if you were to put a straight axle under a 40 Chevy coupe unless you were trying for the gasser look which would also put you out of the class.

I like your ideas and look forward to watching your progress. Something I thought about that might work to gain some room inside the car. Normally when someone channels a car (which you are not), they drop the floorpan inside the frame rails. Since basically you only need extra room on the drivers side, I'm wondering if the floor on the drivers side could be moved down inside the frame while the passenger side is left at stock height. That would allow room for the transmission and routing dual exhausts on the passenger side, and then routing the drivers side exhaust back to the drivers side near the rear.......or leave both exhausts exiting on the pass side. Might think about "suicide doors" for easier entry.

I'm building a 32, and have considered using a rectangular box tube (1x2) and trying to make it close to the side panel and roof. It would be referred to as a "body brace" rather than a roll bar if asked. I think it could be hidden behind the upholstery, as I saw where someone had done something similar in another coupe. I don't plan on racing other than just an occasional trip to the strip to find what its capable of. I know it would not satisfy any ruling body, but I think that it would provide some additional personal safety.

Being misquoted on the Hamb is never-ending. Then you get accused of saying something completely different from what was said. And its usually the same people.:D Hang in there........

  8. LOL maybe words would have been more appropriate. :D

  9. Post some pictures, or better yet, video, of this brawler. In todays world of hiding behind the keyboard... gotta share images, or it didn't happen. Not that I don't believe you...

  11. Argument? Im not arguing. I simply asked the question, “is there a stock bodied Model A… or one that fits the rules of Drag Week that is as fast as ours?”
At least RmK57 posted a pic of Gabe Burrell’s Sothern Flyer. It’s more than likely the fastest NA Stock bodied Model A in the 1/8th. Not sure the quarter, it would have to run the quarter to hold that distinction.
As far as me being questionable… I’m sure if we were in the pits or our garages, there would be no imaginary arguments. The internet is a place that leads to misunderstandings when trying to converse about the things we love. I’m sure in person, we’d be friends.

Is this post what you where pointing out?

Yes , Any added structure would help at the A pillar B pillar incase of roll over even not to be raced

His model a has to weigh about 3150 according to the pounds per cube. If it dropped some extra ballast and set up for quarter mile I bet it would run high 7’s or 8.00’s.

Having said that I would guess the engine would cost more than most people’s whole car budget.

Got to check out Gabe’s Model A at the SEGA race in 2021 @ Shady Side, very well done race car, he won the race! Real nice down to earth guy and his girlfriend was his backup girl. This is my favorite picture I’ve seen of them!

You sure sound like a talker. Super fast, blahblahblah, can't show a pic, would rather be an urban legend, blahblahblah, no rules cause its the streets but I have about 20 I'd like u to follow, no mid-plate, jungle gym, fuel type, etc, blahblahblah, I like the work u did on daves car but I don't think u can duplicate it on ur own car. Wtf does that even mean? Why don't u put up a link to yellow bullet so we can all see this"legit"unhamb friendly ultimate street brawler. If ur gonna talk it, walk it.

You really think its Ultimate !! I donot I think ,average , slow compared to several small tire street driven 5:30 6:30s now , Here early /mid 90s street driven car where running 6:40s 6:60s , some 20s
Ulitimate ,, I donot , when there was a straight
Jap 6 & trying to source all right hand drive Ford parts ,
Would of been What the Hell was he thinking,, witch a few I did get that response,
A mid 60s looking except Weld Vs, You will not see a time slip or track run,
Old car when maybe @ track , get a slip ,look & toss, I'm not a bracket racer,
Street ,,, Now I data log street &
I have access to a track, during the week if needed, or wondering..
YellowBullet or other sights was for Samlyam in search of 8s or quicker A,
& yes ,Urban legend more likely only to see the car between 10pm - 3am

I think that in an internet argument, whoever posts the fastest timeslip wins.

I kinda like to be there and watch, too. Even at slow tracks.

  26. Didn't that HAMB drags roadster pickup run in the 9's ???

  27. You dominated the HAMB drags for several yrs, driving cross country laying down good numbers then driving it back home, one of the first to do so here if I recall.

  28. Yep! It ran in the 9’s! 468 and a 4 speed! I did not drive it the whole way though (I hope you’re not let down) I unloaded it in Oklahoma and drove it 200+ miles in. At night, with the the threat of a storm… it was pretty sketchy! Also, I had to stop and refuel roadside once. The engine was 12.5:1… race fuel only.

It's a little different feeling getting ready to run down a drag strip 1800 miles from home in a pretty fast car, that you drove all the way there....
