Hey, RH; Hope you heal well, soon, w/o any complications. Sudden-stops can have lingering effects. ;( . Prayers sent. Me, I'd force that mm2-type crossmember to work its' ass off in some beater-project or another, for the rest of its' natural-born days. . Marcus...
Hey brother, glad you're doing better. Man never knows what's gonna take him out! At least an engine was involved, we won't mention the ladder
Root, Oklahoma cowboys are among the toughest, I am sure you aren't any different. Good luck in your recovery, as you have projects to complete !
Hey @Roothawg Hey Brother "HAMBER", the official H.A.M.B. Safety Council and Amalgamated Society of preventative ladder precautionary inspection, has unanimsously decided, to inform YOU, to keep your silly ass off of any ladders, in any structures, until further notice! Seriously dude, heal up and get better soon !
Sorry to hear this. That has got to change the plans for the first few months of the new year! May be that God is giving you this time of rest to put everything into proper perspective. Use the time to reorganize your priorities about what is, and what isn't important. You have been given the time plan what you will do after the recovery. Make those plans with the understanding that things may be different for your physical body, you might not be able to do the things you did before, at least for a while. Oh yea! Your youngest is correct. Stay off the ladders!
Get well quickly brother. Fiberglass sucks oops nooo I got two of maybe 4 of em counting the new cars. Hate to hear this, I be 90+ & fell the other day. Nothing broke just shook up good. Tripped & wife called 911 to the rescue. Stay connected to the H A M B, educational & entertainment. Best wishes for a speedy recovery & no long lasting pain.
Hey Root, so sorry to hear of your mishap. We'll be praying for a speedy recovery. Rest up and get well soon. Take care pal. E
Even if your daughter tells you I told you so a million times, listen to everything else she and the doctors tell you. Back injuries are the worst, and you are your own worst enemy. Your brain will tell you you're feeling better and can-do things you shouldn't. It's the drugs talking. Believe me I know. Be thankful you can feel the pain. It could have been a lot worse. Larry
When I was employed by a local council we weren't allowed to climb more than 1.5 metres (approximately 5ft) without a harness. They took the ladders off the tailgates of our tippers so we couldn't climb into the tipping body.
I am thankful for safety harnesses. I once fell out of the bucket on a zoom boom and was hanging by the lanyard. I was painting a water tower with a long spray wand connected to an airless pump. There was just too much equipment along with me in the bucket. My best guess, after the incident was that the paint line got snagged on the controls and tilted me out of the bucket before I could figure out what was happening. I managed to pull myself back in. After that, the first thing I did was to take a good look around to see if there was anyone that seen that freak show. LOL
Get well Root , we’re all in this together . Thoughts and prayers . If I was closer it would be food and beer , I make a mean lasagna!! glad your on the up n up and started the healing process . ladders suck , fuck I hate heights , step stools freak me out . All the best .
