I would very much like to see a picture of one of these, were they actually produced and sold? This is the first bit of evidence I've ever seen that those wheels aren't just a modern re-interpretation of a 12 spoke spindle mount.

  6. Definitely have ten spokes. But is that where the similarity starts,..or ends?

Paint and Acc codes are stamped "SPL" rather than a standard number. It was a non standard green originally.

That's where it end's. Those have one flat layer of 10 spoke's. The new one's have 2 layer's of 5, offset and staggered to make them look like spindle mount's.

Has anyone heard about the 55 and 56 hood bird being outlawed in Europe, something about being a safety hazard for pedestrians, I recall reading about it many years ago.
I have been trying to find any aricles about it.

Take from the this as you wish. My Father (parents arrived from Belgium to the US in 58) talked about it when I was young. It would have been around 70 71 when he mentioned it while washing his 66 Galaxy 500.

I've got a set of chrome reverse wheels for my '57 and I was planning to buy whitewalls for them but now looking at this, I think I might get blackwall tires. This '56 had a good look.

Newly acquired ( January 5th). It has been sitting idle for a long time so it's not yet road worthy. I'm considering Halibrand wheels.

    CONSIDERING!!!???
I haven't kept up but to get the real thing you may need to look for used ones, but I concur that would look really nice.
