at some point the back door must have been left open and a bunch of street rodders wandered in here and they are not smart enough to leave

I got lucky, using the atf/ acetone mixture, I've sprayed the frozen window regulators multiple times, today both sides broke loose and work wonderful. I took the door glass out so I can cut new.

Went from white and rusty to stripped on the wheels. Ordered tires from ebay, says they might be here this weekend. All long i thought the cab was green! Turns out it's blue lol put new rear calipers on it, lumpy was dead on with his info. 20240124_143316.jpg 20240124_143427.jpg 20240124_144805.jpg 20240124_160249.jpg

  7. Hey Brother, that’s the same color as my 50! I believe it’s called Mariner Blue. I’m looking forward to pictures of yours and mine together!

I got blue for the wheels. Tracking shows my new tires arriving tmrw too. I think I'll eventually order a set of portawalls for it.

That's the same tank I have in the truck. Only complaint is fuels draws out the top. I have a external electric fuel pump that sits lower than bottom of tank. So far so good but waiting to burn up pump.

Yeah the first tank i had in my elco was out of the top also. I wanted to put a mustang tank in this truck but space is limited. This one will fit between the frame rails and spring hangers if the dimension are right lol. Gotta build a cradle for it to sit in.

I guess a driveshaft and power steering pressure hose is all that'll be left to drive it down the road after the tank is in. Then I've gotta wire lights.

Daily driver or often driven cars and trucks usually get their name if they have one somewhat by accident or incident. My 48 has been known as "Little" for Little red truck that my now 44 year old daughter named it when she was two. At one time we also had "Big" a 75 K30 Crew cab Chevy that sitting beside little was indeed big. On the other hand show cars have to have a name that you come up with and research and hope isn't the name from an all too well known race car or show car.
When I was 12 the older neighbor kid who was in high school had a 49 Plymouth convertible that was lowered as far or further than you could lower one and not do a notch or other work that he had Hung Tu Lo on written in Chinese restraunt menu font. The car was baby doll blue.

You probably have them but here are the dimensions to cut the boards if you want original size boards, It also shows how to cut the grooves for the factory style bed strips. Stock bedwood was Southern Yellow pine. Screenshot (753).png Screenshot (752).png Screenshot (752).png

I'm thinking that this wheel is off a 75 Monte Carlo that I bought off one of my students years ago. They have been in the shed since the 80's and are one option for my 48 as I am running hubcaps. They could be mid 80's Olds Delta 88 with 5 on 4-3/4 though. I had one of those pass through my hands that I kept the wheels off when it got hauled to the wrecking yard.

Man, you posting this bed wood dimension information couldn't be better timing! I have often wondered if there was somewhere that the information was that I didn't have to try to measure old rotted-out wood and here it is. I am not seeing the exact year and bed called out in what you posted but will check out the website. Thanks!

    Lloyd,
Hold off on ordering the porta-walls. I am fairly sure I have a set of 4 that have never been installed. They're yours when I find them. I bought them new about 20 yrs ago. They are for 15 inch wheels. Ron

  20. Thanks Danny,

Hope you are feeling better my friend!

@Lloyd's paint & glass ....If you are going to do a spare in the bed, I have a new Coker 15 radial with a 2 inch wide white that I ain't gonna use. You are welcome to have it if you want it!

    God Bless
    Bill

Better than a whole car. Knew a person that had their car painted. Ask for Washington Blue and it came out like your wheels.

Just order a modern set of porta walls .... The older versions were for straighter bias ply tires.
The modern versions are shorter and and allow for the curve in the sidewall of a radial tire.

They all suck in my opinion on a working truck .... We need action not white walls.
