Technical 49 mercury rear shackles

    I put 4inch blocks on my 49 merc it had 2ich on it and now the shackles drag the ground backing out the driveway the question is do I have to leave the stock shackle bracket on or can I change it?any help be appreciated

    4 inch block is steep.
    Live with it dragging
    Rework the shock mount
    Go back to 2 inch blocks and de-arch the leaf springs

    It don't drag there it is at the back of the spring shackle I don't know if this pic will help to see what I got going on 20240125_140431.jpg

    It don't drag there it is at the back of the spring shackle

    I enlarged the picture, always select "full image" then we don't have to deal with those tiny pics

  9. Put the bumper back on and drag it.
    That will save the shackles

  10. Better to drag the shock brackets than the Gas Tank.
