Yeah I don't think so either. He claims he has another way to get them made. Doubt it.

Not sure. That's incredibly inefficient compared to molding them.

Casting resin, maybe? Maybe cheap metal mold for very low production?
    Doesn't much matter...

A 3d printed kit is what I read on the Model Cars Magazine forum... I think they said it would be in 1/12 scale..

  6. The model world uses a lot of resin for low production and specialist stuff. He could have taken silicone molds off an old kit and be resin casting that way.

I forgot to mention the silicone molding material - like from Smooth-On. He could use the orig trees, n such. Just have to find a place that'll do "Flash-Aluminum"(aka: model/plastic "chrome"). Body could be 2 piece w/that molding material, couple different resins avail.
    Oops - I type slow.

  8. Here ya go,
Someone put "The Uncertain-T" up for sale in the "Hot Rod Mart" classified section of the July 1967 issue Hot Rod Magazine. The asking price was $7,000. Steve never found out who placed that ad, but he has some suspicions. Everyone must have guessed that it was a prank, as he never received any replies at all.[1]

Steve's story is that this happened shortly after the altercation with Barris.

I spoke with my plumber friend who I shared a photo with. He confirmed that he shared it with a very well known hot rod restorer that he is friends with. So he is the contractor you referred to. That part of your post is accurate. But I still don't understand how based on your interpretation of a non disclosure agreement I was wrong to share it with my plumber but you think it was ok for Dave to share it with you. That is not our interpretation, as we are totally fine with Dave sharing it with you. But of all people, you should not be the one trying to enforce an agreement you know nothing about, and by applying your own interpretation of it, you would also be in violation. It's the pot calling the kettle black.

I had a model of it. And the Red Baron, that out-house on wheels, the Paddy Wagon, Beatnik Bandit...cartoon cars. It was a phase I went through. My dad thought I was sniffing glue. Looking back, I don't blame him.

I was into the cartoon stuff when I was a kid also, however dad did build a Red Barron . Never had an Uncertain T although I remember it and thought it was cool , all these type cars do have historical importance in that they got a lot of kids interested in hot rods and customs. In the scheme of things I would rate the Uncertain T middle of the road definitely not top billing.

I like cars! I like playing cars with my friends, and I like seeing what other car guys build when they play cars! I dont like legal actions, drama, or shit talking in my car game.

The Red Baron, that had the helmet, right? I wasn’t much of a model maker. But it think I started on it.

This is just a tid bit, to add a bit of grist to the mill.
It's not meant to degrade the point of this thread.
It's just a comparison of sorts and nothing more.
These two historical trucks are local favorite's around here in Seattle, and they are now a part of MOHI
( Museum of history and industry ) here in Seattle.
They are simply caricatures, based upon a play on word's and were strictly for advertising and PR value.
The Uncertain T in my opinion, is a caricature of a car at best, no doubt it has a certain historical place in the realm of ( show cars ).
HOLY GRAIL ? Maybe not so much.
How ever, I send my positive thoughts, to all of those, concerned and involved in its future restoration.

I watched that video, and one of the first true hot rods I spotted in that video, was Blackie's roadster.

To my eye, that is a true Hot Rod "T" that really brings a smile to my face, and to those that remember the car and that can appreciate it's back story and history.
I appreciate the fact, that it's part of an important collection.

    Thanks from Dennis.

Alotta this going on in this thread .

The car is a high watermark in custom car history , like it or not .
The fact it’s getting restored to its former glory is all that matters .

the rest of this back and forth I said you said nonsense is simply masterbation .
