@65pacecar Hello, The address for the Long Beach facility was about a mile away from our old high school. There were three cars that got The Earl Schieb Discount Paint Job. It is a wonder the advertisement did not say $11.95 for a paint job. Then it would match the address of the facility. Ha! They all looked good and did not have any runs, blems or marks. One was a custom green color on a 53 Chevy Bel Air Hardtop, silver on a 56 Chevy two door post model and Purple on a 46 Ford coupe. All three were the custom creations in our cruising hot rod group. similar in looks and color The next obvious thing was the 53 Chevy was the first to cross South of the Border for White tuck and roll. Yes, we drove late at night to cross. The next car was the 56 2 door post, who also got the White tuck and roll everywhere, including the inside roof and package tray. The last one was the 46 Ford Coupe who also went to the same place as the other two and got the White tuck and roll. They all looked pretty good for work on the custom cars not done in the USA. The 53 Chevy was even used as a surf transportation to the teenage gatherings at our local surf spots. The seat back came out and the longboards lived there. Instead of a bunch of teens inside and the longboards strapped on top, (No marks on the new E.S. paint) it was just two teens and a lot of boards through the seat area and trunk. The lesser of two problems and the paint was pristine. Jnaki The red Buick powered, 1940 Ford Sedan that was always in the drive in parking lot at night, got his paint at a popular body shop in Long Beach. He also got his White tuck and roll near our Bixby Knolls hang out place. When they all were in the parking lot, it was a mini car show. To the friends, the tuck and roll, the new paints all looked new and quality applications. No one could tell where the finished paint or tuck and roll upholstery was done. They all smelled the same and were stuffed with the same stuff. The 2 Chevys and one Ford spent less and got the same style/quality that the USA product had done, locally. I was tempted to get a new paint job for my Flathead Sedan Delivery, but knew it would spend a lot of time in the salt air environment and so, the original color was fine. It looked shiny with a new coat of wax and a heavy duty water spray for the under carriage areas. The cave in the back was not upholstered as it was the sleeping headquarters, so tuck and roll was out of the question, along with an empty pocketbook. YRMV
