I wonder if any of the AMBR judges read threads on the H.A.M.B.?
And if they do, does it influence their decision? ;):D

My guess as to the winner (not being there until tomorrow tho): the girl and pink car win as a political choice.

I think a lot of them fail the "step back and look at..." test. Things that feel kool when you're in the thick of it can fail from any measurable distance. The Chevy top, tophats are a costume thing these days. The reference to a Murphy Roadster? Not even close, but I'm biased and have those proportions tattooed in my psyche. Sorry Model J, he didn't mean it.
I've tried and can't wrap may arms around either phaeton top. I know, opinions are like assholes in that we all have one and most stink. But still, as appropriately noted by @krylon32 going straight up is against the style seen in the builder's bullseye. Further, trying to "roadster" the top (I never liked em on roadsters either) misses the mark. I really feel that ½ way back would nail it and say "hot rod phaeton" better than the Dave Bell profile they both ended up with. Enough has been said about the rest so I don't need to pile on any more. In this automotive wet t-shirt contest the nips on the tubs are pointing due south. The top on the Chevy wreaks of silicone. The others get their jobs done or simply ripped off their wet shirts for points;)
I'd love to be there. Seems some real and impromptu wet t-shirt contests are imminent given the weather reports.

Well I think the common opinion is this year none of them is very exciting lol.

Adding: I missed the curved windshield - that obviously has to go!

No need to photoshop it. If you look at the accompanying artwork on the red tub display there are a couple of drawings that clearly represent what you are describing. Somehow, between the artist's concept renderings and the top maker things went awry and the top caved forward.
    Pity

This is similar to how I did the column in my roadster, I'm thinking they incorporated a side tilt feature possibly for easier ingress/egress around the low position of the steering wheel, who knows.

The thing that kills the pink car for me is the black wheel choice. It feels like they took the lazy way out. I still feel the 34 or the Chevy!

Now People will wonder about the door panel upholstery. Note the wrap around tips on the flames, classy.

I’ve heard that some are fed special aluminum based feed. You just bead roll the pattern instead of all the sewing

Anthony, I understand that you have old ties to the builders. It is the most HAMB friendly, aside from the color EDIT: and the '34. I do feel the need to point out those engine tabs on the frame, though. Anyone building that on here would hear the term boxing...

  29. Those engine tabs have survived 700+ hp thrashes by Alan
Had another set survive smacking an oak tree on the frame horn. Bent the outside of the rail behind those tabs and folded up the same style bolt on engine mounts. The tabs were just fine.
But I’m no hamb expert on anything :)

Okay, just something that kind of jumped out at me. I'm not at the show and know Alan from his BB rides (pro all the way), so I'll take your word on it! Back to the bickering!
