I built and drove a 55 1st series in High School, and have two 54's sitting behind the shop right now. They are "on deck" I suppose...

There were a lot of weird transitions in those two years. The 54 I plan to build has a factory open rear, even though everyone says that is not possible. I assume it is a late 54 or something?

Last time I partied with that much beer I ended up with a concussion, humerus bone near the elbow playing peek-a-boo thru my skin, bruised hip and a sore back.

Thank you Ringo for reforming me all those years ago.

Well I came home to a fuel tank on my porch, that's a plus. Put the new ignition switch in it this evening and wired all of that up. 20240130_210239.jpg

Well... you might be right, but what is bad on one truck is good on the other. Together they make one decent 54. One is actually a bob-tailed 3/4 ton with a 36" steel and wood flatbed on it.:D I'm guessing golf course tug or doodlebug or something? It has a really decent grille, front fenders, and an uncut dash, which the other one needs.

Thanks genital men. He's making a 4x10 banner that goes on the end of the building. And vinyl lettering for the windows in the office. Getting there

"upstanding members of the HAMB"? Good gawd mate! Who knows what nefarious souls that may include. Like Lloyd? Geez! Shudder the thought.

  17. "upstanding member of the HAMB" is kind of an oxymoron, isn't it!

Fabbed up some mounting shit for my gas tank today. Not mad at all with how that came out. Got a question for you guys, would you run rubber from the tank to the pump? Stainless steel braided with the nylon braid on the outside, 6AN. Or is that unacceptable? Not gonna be inspected for NHRA competition or anything like that lol. 20240203_151032.jpg 20240203_153448.jpg 20240203_161846.jpg

I run SS hard line to within a foot of the tank and then make flex lines out of that nylon covered 6AN stuff for the connection. I doubt it matter dude. Because it is "out of sight, out of mind" I wouldn't scrimp there. But that is just me.

I normally run hard line front to back, like you. But I have the fittings for the tank and they're pushlock 6AN, one of my buddy's was at the shop today and asked why I don't just run braided line. I replied with the whole "nhra only allows 18" of rubber in the system Yada Yada Yada" to which he asked "you planning on an NHRA tech inspection?" Lol... I'm good with running one solid braided rubber line, less connections!

I don't plan to race everything I build but those rules make sense for good reason.

I always thought the NHRA was talking about regular, parts house, rubber fuel hose, not braided hose.

Braided hose is worse in my opinion. You can't see the cracked rubber hose inside. Looks all pretty on top, hidden danger underneath. That's why hard line is the go to product. As little flex line as possible, no matter what it is covered in.

I have no idea man. Still rubber I guess. I ordered the 6AN hose. First time I've done it this way lol. I got the frame clamps and everything. Cross your/my fingers haha!
