I agree whole heartedly! Never been a real fan of braided, but it has it's advantage's in short, tricky runs. I like to replace it every 2-3 years anywho. ;)

You'll be just fine. Just gotta be a little more vigilant with the inspection and/or replacement.;):D

Crash and burn baby! Billy is right though, you can't inspect it. I'll keep an eye on it ;)

I’m a fan of steel lines. Think of it this way if you get T boned what do you think will hold up better. Dying by fire a big fear of mine.

Yeah I know. I've used steel on the last 50 hot rods I've built. I don't worry so much about burning to death, I figure I'll end up getting hit by a fucking idiot that won't slow down when I'm out on the interstate trying to help somebody else who's been in an accident or their car is on fire lol

I have a buddy that owns a pro mod drag 65 corvette. It sat unused in the garage for 5 years. They went to get it running last summer and the braided fuel line had turned into a sprinkler hose

Damnit! So I just paid a lot of money for a roll of hose, just to cut a couple of feet off of? OK. I'm good with that.

Probably could, but I can also keep it under the bench to cut off of when needed.

Is -6AN the outlet side of the new tank? I would have thought -8AN.

  13. I've got some pretty old pieces of braided steel line and they don't leak and I've never seen a braided steel line kink in an accident like a hard line can.
I know plenty of guys running it without issues, not running cheap line either, I've also used the braided push lock hose without issues either. I will say the push lock does get a little stiff after a couple yrs under the hood.
I'm also surprised that fuel cell has -6 outlet fittings.

I used braided steel from tank to pump. About 18 inches. 5 years and doing good. Also used a short piece for vent.

No you're correct, the tank is 8AN, I I'm not running 8AN hose, I and going from 8 down to 6. But I'm gonna puss out and run my steel line anyway.

  18. Wise choice Lloyd. Tank looks nice, very similar to the one in my coupe. Carry on brother.;)

Have you seen that other thread about Amazon purchases? I ordered that hose and a firewall mounted battery tray last night, along with a few other pieces I need, but today, on a Sunday, the hose and battery tray are on my porch lol... hard to beat that in my opinion. I used to work in the semiconductor industry, all equipment dispersing chemicals (nasty stuff) was SS braided lines over teflon tubing.
I wonder if something like that is A) affordable, and B) an option? And the C) where the heck to find it?

  23. I just got a package today that I ordered yesterday afternoon too, the only thing I dislike about Amazon lately is how their driver pissed on my garage door !
I caught him on the next block over and exchanged a few words, I doubt he'll be taking a leak on my property again.

The asshole couldn't open the passenger door and piss there??? WTF!!! Instead he pisses on your door. I'd be willing to bet there's a gas station that he could have used not more than a mile away, too!

  25. I believe I would have to contact Amazon about that idiot. I live in the middle of nowhere, and if an Amazon driver needs to piss, fine, anywhere but on the buildings or vehicles. I wouldn’t be surprised if he would lose his job over that.

  28. The one that delivered today tossed it from the first photo, decided it wasn't far enough in front of the door so she kicked it the rest of the way as shown in the second photo !
I know it's tough getting anyone to apply for jobs but what the hell.
