    Once it comes off the show circuit I'd bet it gets driven.

    I like it. Total hotrod! And not the same old recipe.

    @Jim Bouchard

    Hello,

    Nice capture of the this year’s winner. A lot of time and effort went into that particular build. We all know how much it takes to do a ground up build, especially the detailing it takes to show the car to everyone who is a critic of the designs or how it looks to the world.

    The Grand National Roadster Show has been going on for a long time and we have seen those early versions up in San Francisco and Oakland for years. It is nice to have it in So Cal as it seems to be the easy access to all shops and customers of hot rod circles.

    This year’s winner as photographed, looks like one we have all seen over the years of the popular version of what most think is a “hot rod.” Tom McMullen’s nice 1932 flamed roadster.

    Tom McMullen’s ’32 was “the most identifiable hot rod of all time.” so, goes the history…

    The winner of this year’s award seems to be a memory of those design techniques of the popular 1932 roadster from our history in So Cal hot rod circles. Even though the gas tank, if real, is an insurance nightmare… nice new look and hard work… YRMV

    Nice, you can park it in my garage.

    Thanks for the winner's photo.

  16. The LA Roadsters have always included 1937 and earlier roadsters as well as other 'open' models with removable windshields such as Phaetons.

    My opinion does not count. I don't think exposed hinges should be chrome plated. See 2023 AMBR. This 28 they go un-noticed. Longer suicide doors. 2023-08-26 14.51.19-1.jpg

    Of all the options, they could have picked worse. I like most things about this.

    I have to give credit where credit is due. All of the AMBR contestants look lots better than what I'm driving.

    It’s certainly nicer than anything I could build. I have a hard time finding fault with something of this build quality. It is beautiful.
