Tough to nail it down to just 1 ... I've got to say the song Ulcer Breakout by the Butthole Surfers is pretty damned close though .. goes something like this: "Ever fallen in love with a Chevy, Ever fallen in love with a Ford, ever felt the tug of a Hemi, ever seen the face of the Lord? Got to be at least 500 inches.. cubic inches ... a seven-five quartermile ..." *just read the online lyrics to thi, and my version is much better:) I guess when it's turned up so loud my eyes vibrate and my ears bleed, I start to hear what I want to.

Oh, and the Reverend's "Big Red Rocket of Love" oh yeah, and his "Devil's Chasin' Me"

It's the funniest, thats for sure.

Any Beach Boys car song, I like.

  12. Probably "Thunder Road" by Robert Mitchum re-released in 1962 from the 1958 movie filmed just across the state line in Transylvania and Buncombe counties, NC. Love the song, love the movie (still available now on DVD).

Back in 1963 I purchased an album (you remember those old 33 1/3 LP vinyl albums;) ) called Hot Rod City with a neat photo of Tommy Ivo and his fuel dragster on the front. The singing was so-so but alot of the songs were by Gary Usher and others who wrote hot rod stuff for the Beach Boys and others. Anyway, I saw where its still around and on CD. Anybody else ever see or have this album?????????? As a teen, I really loved it! (Still have the vinyl LP!)

CHECK OUT THE REVIEW FOR BRIAN'S FORTHCOMING CD IN
THE LATEST ISSUE OF "GUITAR PLAYER" MAGAZINE!
    "13"
Anyone who knows anything about Brian Setzer knows he can pretty much do it all when it comes to guitar playing. Live or on record, white-hot guitar is the centerpiece of Setzer's schtick, and the latest album from this extraordinary player does nothing to diminish the perception that he rules the roost when it comes to high-octane roots-rock shredding. Setzer seems bent on covering a lot of territory here, and w/ 13 original songs that run the gamut from hard rock to rockabilly to Jimmy Bryant-style country swing to even some folky banjo picking, you're treated to a wide range of his talents. There is seriously badass playing all over "13", and Setzer even manages to slip in some humorous digs on the current state of rockabilly with the appropriately titled "really rockabilly", which features Stray Cats bassist Slim Jim Phantom. Unlike some of Setzer's previous rockabilly and swing releases, his 13th solo album is a freewheeling guitar romp that trades thematic focus for the pure joy of running wild---and that's what makes it so cool.

How could "Race with the Devil" go unmentioned

"Hot Rod Race", "Hot Rod Race pt2" "Arkie Meets the Judge" "The Guy in The Mercury" and "The Kid in the Model A"

Practically every song on "Chrome Smoke and Fire"- don't much care for Commander Cody version of "Hot Rod Lincoln" :D

  27. Damn, you're right. That one's up there on my list too. I love Cake.

  28. I know the car is a little late-model for the HAMB, but I'm still surpised that no one has mentioned Bruce Johnston (now of the Beach Boys) and the Rip Chords "Hey Little Cobra"
